It is indeed not confirmed Lore. It is only a connect-the-dots game right now. Glaive -> first tenno Warframes -> Hayden Tenno Excalibur -> first warframe = proto excalibur. Ah, see this as a retcon. Think Proto rhino and then ad proto excalibur. Then add Hayden and imagine the early Orokin using him/them as secret weapons.
