Rage mod Question

So, I've been going back and reworking/formaing old frames I don't touch much to bring them to a point where I can make them viable. The next frame in my sights in a Nekros, modding for a shield of shadows build. For matters of energy, I was curious if a rage build would work to keep him stocked on energy. While he doesn't have the usual bruiser build that benefits the best form rage, I was curious if energy from rage is calculated before or after damage reduction is applied. Nekros can get crazy high reduction with a shields build, so if it's calculated before, rage would be a great asset.

From the wiki: 

• The energy gain from Rage is applied before the damage reduction from parrying.

From that I can assume that it does apply before damage reduction from the augment.

If going for SOTD build rage will not be very effective as the main aim is using the shadows as a sword and shield approach. With energy siphon and high duration you can recover the energy by the time SOTD has ended. Use zenurik focus if you want a constant flow of energy.

i'd probably choose Equilibrium before Rage for this purpose.
the ground littered with Health Orbs means you can get a lot of Energy.
