I think the mods would have to take a pretty hardline against anything that is out of place to prevent reading the forums becoming an endless stream of bikini clad women and weed leaves tho. Without them, having avatars feels pointless. :) Furthermore, I would pay platinum to have custom avatars in the game as well! I think I was being perfectly reasonable, not ironic nor hypocritical at all. It doesn't always have to be either black or white, this is the Warframe forums, thus it should be warframe-related even where the avatars are concerned. But even then it's still a trivial matter to me personally, I'm fine either way, I just prefer if it was warframes and not "random stuff". But then I don't post memes and Reddit-ish stuff every now and then either, so what do I know anyway, right? :P Can't argue against semantic fallacies. PS: just so we're clear, I was quite clearly talking about common decency in the bit you quoted, not how the forums should be. And you're still rude. +1...dont want to see naked girls or other S#&$ as avatars on this forum...that would make it kinda looking unserious and we could identify all the kids behind the monitor :D ...just give us the feeling that all people here are serious and dont pornfreaks or catlovers...you can find everywhere that S#&$...and as it is at the moment make that forum to something special and as i said...we just need more game related avatars...dont make it here at least...it would also dont fit to the background here... Were you thinking about some simple flash-based avatar creation tool, so we can change colors and angle of the heads to create unique avatars? I know it will require more work than giving us 10-100 simple pictures (the more the better of course), but that way we can at least be unique in the forum - and let's face it, maybe it shouldn't be this way, but it's all about being unique to enhance the identification of a user in forum. Plus it's always nice to be able to identify someone instantly by just seeing their avatar. However, almost every forum I've been on is just flooded with avatars that completely distract you from the actual topic and the posts. It's not so much for me that I would become enraged and furious at someone's avatar choice but more that keeping avatars warframe-related helps to keep things on-topic as it hammers home that these are the warframe forums and you're supposed to talk about warframe-related things here. So I think that at least 100x100 static avatars should be the way to go. Maybe people could pay a little extra for gifs or larger avatar squares? The system of 100x100 or less static avatars and paying extra for larger and animated avatars seem to work on other forums as far as I know.
