Some questions about ash's bladestorm?

Question

The infomation on what exacaly effects ash's bladestorm is quite contreversal. Some people say attack speed changes how fast the animation of the bladestorm is, finisher damage multipliers apply to bladestorm, duration changes bladestorm, and some people say that covert lethality will change the damage of bladestorm while others say only auras change the damage of bladestorm. Which of these are true?

Also, which power should you be pushing towards to make bladestorm the best: Range or Strength? (or duration if that changes anything)

Thanks!

Bladestorm's damage is mainly affected by:
  • Power Strength ( Intensify, Transient Fortitude, Blind Rage, Power Drift)
  • Steel Charge Aura
  • Combo Counter Multipliers ( Rising Storm augment & Body Count melee mod)
  • Arcane Fury
Period.

Finishing Touch has no effect and so does Covert Lethality.
The only reason why Covert Lethality is normally used with a dagger on Ash is because of his 3rd skill Teleport - which opens up enemies to finishers that will insta-kill them regardless of level.

Bladestorm's cast animation is affected by:
  • Fury
  • Spoiled Strike (Makes it slower)
  • Quickening
  • Arcane Strike
  • Valkyr's Warcry
  • Volt Speed

The equipped melee doesn't matter, you will get the same animation speed with a Jat Kittag vs Dark Dagger for example as long as they have the same speed mods. Duration has no effect on this skill as with Natural Talent. Arcane Trickery works best if you're going to spam it.

I believe that attack speed mods are supposed to make attacks quicker. You cannot change the damage type and the only thing that affects the damage is your power strength and melee combo chain. Duration does nothing.

As for build a good range is going to allow you to get everything in a wide area (note that you cannot increase the max number of enemies hit) and depending on enemy level I don't think that you'd need a whole bunch of power strength.

Attack Speed Mods should affect, base Melee Attack Speed should not(is a bug if it does).
Duration has no effect on Bladestorm.
Covert Lethality should have no effect, it's +100 bonus would only apply if Pressure Point and such applied.
Finishing Touch has no bearing on Bladestorm.
Steel Charge does affect Bladestorm.

the balance between Range and Strength depends on the Level of the Enemies you'll be facing.
as they go up in Level, you'll want less Range so that you can focus your 18 hits on fewer Targets, to actually Kill them, rather than doing chip Damage to 15 different Enemies but Killing none of them.

Thanks a lot! These clears everything up!

The silence augument of banshee also affects the finisher damage of Bladestorm. That's the only "finisher multiplier mod" that does affect bladestorm tho.

Yes that's right thank you for reminding me. I added the arcanes as factors that may contribute to Bladestorm but forgot about Savage Silence.
