My Kubrow got older?

I stopped playing this game for a couple of months. But when i came back i first checked on my Kubrow which was in stasis but she looked at lot different than before even though i didn't change anything on her. I even logged in and on 4 times over and she still looked like this. Also i left her in stasis.

DE has done a lot to update the lighting and look of things. puppy textures got some love too.

also, the lighting in your ship can contribute to some of the shading, darker in first image, brighter in second image

All i see is the second screenshot has cleaner lighting. First looks darker, more "dirty",

It strongly depends on lightning. Look at your environment.

I think you just changed the lighting schemes in your ship.
