Boltor deals Puncture damage type, which is very effective against armored enemies such as Grineers. You will fight many of these at the beginning. Also, as you are new, I'm suggesting you to check out http://warframe.wikia.com/wiki/WARFRAME_Wiki You will find many useful informations there that will grant you a good start. I really Want to recommended The Anniversary Weapons Because of Their Good Stats..
