Help with a Nekros build

Question

My last couple of runs showed me that I don't know how to build a good Nekros, so I come to you for help. How would one make a capable Nekors? What abilities/characteristics should I focus on?

HARD MODE: Solo-capable Nekros/ not a Desecrate-o-bot.

Forma used: one

Aura: Corrosive projection

- Vigor (max)

- Vitality (max)

- Despoil (max)

- Intensify (max)

- Streamline (max)

- Blind rage (unranked) <-- didn't have enough power and cant be bothered to re forma.

- Stretch (max)

- Rage (max) <-- not exactly sure why I have this on so if you don't have despoil augment I guess that's your go to but otherwise its a oddity.

that's basically my build and it seems to work out pretty good. but I'm sure you can get way stronger builds that's just mine if you wanted to take a look at it or do whatever with it.

You can try this.

Aura slot: Corrosive Projection

Exilus slot: Handspring

Health Conversion, Fleeting Expertise(rank 4) Vitality, Primed Continuity, Natural Talent, Equilibrium, Shield of Shadows, Blind Rage(rank 6).

That's purely for surviving though, you can make it more utility friendly by dropping Blind Rage and adding Despoil for example. Play around with it, the survivability is based around duration for Shield of Shadows and Health Conversion adding a lot of extra armour. Tailor make it to your needs. I would usually use Despoil and Stretch instead of Shield of Shadows and Blind Rage personally.

These are the two I use; both require augment mods, both are very tanky. It's good for the first one to watch where you are when you have to recast Shadows of the Dead. You don't need the primed mods if you don't have them - I used it before I got them:

I haven't forma'ed again yet to fit in the primed in this one:

Hope this helps.

Edit: I've since changed to the build shown by MrJxt in this thread, and find it works much better than mine (especially in place of my SOS build):

Perfectly balanced all rounder build. No energy problems, self sustain. Tankyness.
"A perfect cycle of Life and Death".

The Build:
http://warframe-builder.com/Warframes/Builder/Nekros/t_30_4430020130_2-0-10-12-4-5-34-8-5-54-2-10-55-6-5-58-9-5-256-3-3-458-7-3-479-5-10-727-1-5_2-6-727-8-54-7-256-9-12-11-479-7-55-11-458-5-34-14-58-9_0/en/1-0-12/

►Playstyle:
You can play by Shadows of the Dead or Desecrate too.

Desecrate is going to be your Life Tap, to make the build going and fueling energy for other skills.
You can go by Life Strike melee or Furis Augmented (Winds of Purity) to recover Health in dangerous situations.
And eventually with Syndacate AOES: Justice (Steel Meridian), Purity (Ariters of Hexis), Truth (New Loka) recovering Health on proc.

You can go melee only with Blood Rush and Body Count or you can play by guns.

Since it's going to rely so much on Health Orbs i suggest you a full developed (tanky) Carrier with Vacuum and Medi-Ray.
Remember that health orbs heal your Carrier too.

►Mods:
There's no need to max Vitality, Equilibrium, Primed Continuity.

Blind Rage + Fleeting Expertize should go together.
You can drop one of them or both of them for whatever mods you want.

Just keep in mind that dropping Fleeting Exp will raise your SOTD cost to 150 and Despoil vitality consumption. It's not advisable, it would make the game harder in many situations.

Blind Rage is there mainly for Shadows of the Dead numbers.

  • Nekros gains another shadow copy for every additional 15% in Power Strength. The maximum number of copies is 20 attained at +195% Power Strength.

Health Conversion can be dropped for Shield of Shadows. But I feel HC is way better and more efficent than SoS.
Shield of Shadows is too much dependant on a Duration build and however there are still situations where having it down for some seconds (its casting time) means you're going to die istantly.
This won't happen with HC.
Having them both in a build assures you're not going to die, but Imho it's overkill and a wasted slot.

Final Thoughts:
No matter what, in the end Nekros is viable but it's not a good Warframe, neither in concept, utility or gameplay.

The Concept fails cause there's no Synergy outside of Desacrate.
The Utility fails cause SOTD actually isn't the great utility it should be, Terrify is subpar and Health Globes from Desacrate will going to affect mainly you.
The Gameplay fails cause it's going to become pretty boring soon, even by not playing exclusively with Desecrate.

specialise on the ulti, since now the each time one of your shadow stock a shadow for your next rise of the dead

power (spawn more shadow, much stronger)

duration (allow the shado to stay alive longer)

the augment allow you to survive
