Covert Lethality

Question

Can anyone explain the use case of this mod?

First I assume people run it unranked since the insta-kill effect doesn't scale and you can keep the cost low?

Why is this mod good?  Stealth finisher animations tend to be fairly long.  If you're going for a focus farm stealth exterminate, wouldn't you be better off just spin2winning with an orthos prime?  Is there even a map where enemies outscale the ability to kill with an orthos p spin with stealth bonus?

I hear Ivara mentioned with Rakta dark dagger for energy restore.  While I can see this somewhat working as the high affinity gain from stealth chaining would certainly fill the meter many times over, wouldn't the blight procs end up alerting the rest of the room and canceling the stealth affinity bonus?

Does it work with blinded finishers?  Is this the kind of thing Inaros might take on high level sorties for his prompted finishers?

What is the normal process of "stealth exterminate" focus farm?

Obviously it can kill any level enemy and if your Inaros your a God and can't die. It also defeats the purpose of Fatal Teleport and is great for stealth farming regardless of the proc because procs don't alert stealth anymore. Other than that it's personal preference ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

If you ignore prompt-finishers being instakill, it adds +100 base damage, which scales elemental damage as well. Which is double the highest dagger's base damage, iirc? (50 toxin on a Karyst).

And yes, it works with prompt finishers, which means blinded finishers as well, so yes - perfectly useable by Inaros, Excal, Equinox, Ivara, etc. in S3s.

But aside from that, unless you're one of the minority that habitually play in enemy levels higher than 100, there's no particular reason to use it over a spin-to-win Maiming Strike/Primed Reach Orthos P.

And yes, Blight procs would alert nearby enemies and break your streak.

About stealth farming, can't speak for others, but Ivara or Equinox with a silenced Tonkor works fine for me, no melee involved.

As the Tenno above have pointed out:

Works not only on regular Stealth finishers, but also on triggered ones, such as Excalibur's Radial Blind, Inaro's Desiccation, Banshee's Savage Silence augment, Equinox' Rest, Ivara's Sleep Arrow, Mirage's Prism, Valkyr's Paralysis and Wukong's Cloud Walker and Ash's Teleport (actually, with his augment it's a "press 3 kill"). (also, don't need to mention it works you're invisible)

And yes, Inaros becomes even more of a beast with it, since he regains a health with stealth kills (go for the win with a Life Strike mod too!)

So, yes, it's a one-hit-kill mod for daggers.

Stealth farms with this mod are better with Frames that actually turn invisible, such as Ash, Loki or Ivara (Banshee, kinda?)

It doesn't work agains Fatal teleport, it works with it. If you have a CL Dagger, you have a 100% chance that the finisher will kill the enemy, without it , not so much, especially on heavy units.

Then what's the point of Fatal Teleport if Covert Lethality is gonna kill it anyway?

Because you can pick any enemy that is prompt to finishers, teleport to him and kill him instantly no matter the level. It's the best single enemy skill in the game when used it CL .

Fatal Teleport auto hits, without needing to press "E" ... It saves a button press ...

What IS it?

MaimingStrikeMod.png

90% additive, putting a slide attack from an Orthos P without any crit mods at 100% chance to crit.

It's an Acolyte mod from the Shadow Debt event. Spin-to-win works without it, it just makes it better.

So it's an event mod and not in any permanent drop yet.  Meaning we could be waiting a very long time before it's obtainable.
