Ancients Are Downright Broken.

Set them on fire, freeze them with your gun, whatever. They'll still move even if they're flailing around after they're burning, and when they move toward you they're still flailing in agony. It's like they know they're in pain because of the elemental affects of the gun but the programming broke so they're moving towards players anyway even when they're suppose to be standing in place due to fire effects. They'll sometimes move towards you even if you're using a weapon with 100% stagger (Flux Rifle). It's extremely annoying when it's a Toxic Ancient doing that.

There was mention in I think the latest update, where work 'has' been done on ancients and their weird behavior after death.

I still see ancients being frozen upright after death with it's stretchy hand stuck out in mid air.

Personally, I'd like to see a complete rework so the Ancients don't just look like oversized toaster heads with space cancer.

But hey, maybe that's just me :/

You mean like they talked about a livestream or two ago? Along with pictures and animation...

The upcoming Ancient model looks like something out of a Lovecraft novel. You will not be disappointed. Unless you hate tentacles. Then you'll be very disappointed.

The biggest annoyance to me is how they sometimes don't fall down when you do a ground pound, even though they are still put into a fallen down "state" because they can be finishing move'd with a melee weapon even though they're still attacking.

I know that sometimes happens with some other enemies too, but only with ancients does it really matter.

I like ancients just the way they are. They're a tough opponent that require a different approach than normal infested.

Don't change a thing. Ancients are perfect the way they are.

We aren't talking about their design, which is fine. We're talking about bugs and glitches, in which case ancients are about as far from perfect as possible. Bugs need to be fixed, always.

I have to agree. The possessed-looking-sliding towards me at an ever increasing speed-no matter what I do-without even-moving its legs thing is kinda bad

Ancients are known to be buggy and their model will be replaced SOON. Hopefully along with the new model comes animation fixes and no more sliding!

Excellent! More weight to my wild speculative theory that Ancients are the surviving Sentients of the Old War spreading their mutagenic version of the Technocyte Plague!
