Deaths.Reap3r
So, sometimes when I play defense missions, I loose track of the cyropods health... and its not just me, its the whole team because we end up dieing in the first 2 waves... Now go ahead, tell me to pay attention. But I cant be the only one that this happens to because my whole team is not paying attention to the health either, and this happens several times, and on the first time it happens and I want a rematch, the whole team quits thinking that we all suck at it... So just a suggestion would be to have another lotus speech thing saying everytime it goes under 25% or maybe 50% health, the lotus could saying something like... "The cryopod is now at 50% (or 25%) health. Just a small suggestion. Go ahead tell me to pay closer attention next time.
Vahlak
I'm curious, are you just running around killing mobs at the edge of combat on your own? Or actively defending the pod.
-Nerf-Herder-
Yeah... Well, You need to play more like a team, you can't all go off and fight away from the pod, at least one needs to stay and babysit. You'll find that in the later defense a single charger can rip a cryopod to bit in a matter of seconds and a toxic ancient can nuke it if you kill it over the pod. Same as the corpus snipers can one shot the pod. tl;dr - Stop all trying to Leroy Jenkins and have someone guard the pod. Excitonex
I also think it would be nice for the pod's health to be more visible when taking damage. Often times I'm farming alone and I don't notice the pod taking damage until it's already 25% dead.
plznohurtme
This could also be resolved with a more modular ui where things can actually be moved (or DE could put it in a more obvious place of course), because I'm guilty of this randomly as well just losing track of the pod hp because it's in a place I never look unintentionally. TheJagji
When doing infected, me and my team wait for them to come to us. Then you don't have to far to run to get mods.

The problem is that alerts like that won't help, because once an enemy gets to the pod after wave 5, it's usually dead in two hits.

Exactly what i was trying to say in a round about type of way. An alert to say your pod has been one shot killed by a sniper is a waste of time. Deaths.Reap3r
Ok, then how about the lotus saying something like... "The cyropod is being attacked", when the cryopod looses health? That gives you a faster reaction time to get to the cryopod...
Law.
By the time you hear that warning, the pod would be dead. Just keep an eye on the top left corner, it tells you the pods health at 1% to 100%. Prioritize the pods safety first.
gell
If you were on an escort mission, you wouldn't wait till the person you're escorting got hurt before starting to protect them. You don't wait till a baby walks into a pool before you pay attention to it. You need to always be aware of the pod. That doesn't mean you should always be looking at it, or its health bar. Just be sure if you leave to get a mod, you return within 10 seconds, or, you know someone is watching the pod before you run off, then you can go for longer. You need to use some sense. The pod is too fragile at higher levels to take even 2-3 hits (or even 3 seconds worth of damage), so a warning sound would just be helping terrible players become worse, as they would become reliant on the warning instead of being a good protector. I do think it would be nice if when the pod starts taking damage after no damage for a while, it would flash a bright red color once, but it's not really necessary either. Prevent damage, don't wait to react to it. Also, I'm going to go ahead and tell you to pay more attention next time. :B
Sirabot
Sometimes, Enemies sneak by, It's happened to me as well. And it's happened to the point that I see the Crypod health too late to save it. I'd really like a sound effect for when they crypod is taking damage. Maybe not lotus telling us as I feel that would take too long but maybe a sharp pitched dry ice inspired sound that would strike fear into the hearts of players (@50% health). lol :P
Xylia
The problem with the OP's idea is that once you get to Lv40 stuff... the pod dies in <10 seconds (from full!) without a snowglobe. By the time you read the words "Pod at 50% Health", and by the time you turned towards the pod and took about 2 steps.... you'll then get to read something a bit more defining:"MISSION FAILED" Seriously, they need to fix Defense for higher level Grineer/Corpus. Snowglobe should NOT be required to succeed. Edited August 5, 2013 by Xylia

Xylia
They also need to make each attack do a fixed amount of damage (don't scale it with level). Making the enemies harder should be enough, we don't need them doing more damage to the pod too.

rksk16it
Get a few friends/clanmates to hold the pod actively while you and maybe one more farm the resources. I do it often with my clanmates. One or two stay by the pod, others farm. Btw, any form of warning is useless, after first few waves, the time Lotus will take to say a few words, pod will take enough damage to die from 100 to 0 multiple times over !!! legionufo
nova camp spawn point? That like cheat :D But after u9 there have some change it make game more dificult(but i dont think it more dificult it just give more problem). AI not chase player now, even you stay very close the pod but still have many AI go hit the pod. it make the game need, very need vauban to defense even only wave 5 and make the game worse(i think). PS:sorry my bad English.
illya.
I have issues like this as well. infested can take the pod in like 2 seconds. I think the hp alert system is a good one, but I think the best solution is a perimeter breach alert, where when someone gets within a certain distance of the cryopod, the minimap makes turns red or something or a mini notification. happens so many times when im guarding one entrance to the cryopod 4 feet away and somehow a crawler reaches the pod without me noticing when he takes a different path and next thing I know, the cryopod is losing health. There should definitely be an alert for when the shields are taken down.
