Ignis Wraith Modding Help?

Question

So I was lucky enough to be in a clan to win the Ignis Wraith and catalyst. The next thing to do now is how do I mod it? I want to know how to mod it in terms of maximum damage output but as well as the more important realized damage output. Trying to mitigate the ammo consumption of Warframe's former gratata flamethrower is quite hard since I really prefer a crit/status - centric build.

Right now, I'm sure of adding the elemental status mods (unless I get a status/crit Riven). 102% status is super beneficial, especially on gas damage (RIP CORPUS). What I'm not sure of is how much crit mods I need to invest in regards to combating severe ammo consumption. Adding a point strike gives is 30% crit chance from its base of 12%.

What is the perfect balance? What does the most damage? What is the best build against grineer? As we can see from the euphonia, status trumped against the crit-centric build. What do I do with this weapon?

I have 1 forma right now, but I don't know what polarities will provide with the most variability so I can interchange mods for different playstyles.

Crits is certainly recommended. Status is eh, as a Continuous Weapon it won't be applying a whole lot of Status either way. some non-stacking Status Types could be useful, however.

pretty much the same as Ignis usually, just replacing a couple Elementals with Crit Mods instead.

obv Elementals will vary.

no it doesn't. don't let people posting threads that spread misinformation skew things.
both perform 'about equally'. Slug Mode easily Kills the Enemies people are testing the Shotgun Mode on, in fewer shots(generally 1 vs 5 for the Shotgun). at some point in Levels if you aren't stripping their Armor, Shotgun Mode would be better.... but nobody playing long Missions doesn't actually strip Armor.

but the Ignis is a niche weapon. Just because an increase of multishot to its burst, doesn't mean its the optimal thing to do right? Wont dps over time suffer due to the fact it becomes an ammo hose? Also, why is the spread from heavy caliber beneficial, increased hitboxes?

Heavy Caliber has very little effect on this weapon. Split Chamber increases base damage AND status. Both are a must on this weapon.

Add in the essential mods - Serration, SC, HC. Then the 2 crit mods, VS, and PS. After that, it's up to you. You can go with 2 dual stat mods, then add Firestorm (though I don't recommend you use Continuous Misery nor Sinister Reach, unless your playstyle warrants it so). Or, Vile Acceleration to make the status chance be 100%+ with the 2 dual stat mods. You can also choose to use that final mod slot for a Acolyte mod like AS or BR. Or lol, mix and match.

Why Synoid dont need multishot?

Synoid Simulor with SC shoots out 2 already combined orbs, which is not what you want. I suggest a firerate mod to decrease the time it takes to combine the orbs, like Vile Acceleration.

As for Cernos Prime, the damage will be split between how many arrows you shoot out. So if you add SC then the damage will be split between 5 arrows, which makes it kinda like a shotgun bow, in the sense that you need to be close to your enemy for them to receive the full 5 arrows.

And yeah, while it is Thunderbolt compatible with SC, especially if you use Mirage, that build is suckish overall, since an automatic crossbow with the same build, and with Mirage would fare a lot better.
