Scared sh*tless (Operater Spook Event in Ship)

So i was just walking around in my ship, minding my own business, i walk up to the navigation control and i suddenly hear "Hey Kiddo" behind me, seeing my Operator sitting in a dark corner staring at me. Of course im not used to see other people in my ship like that so i, of course, fly out of my chair.

Im just wondering, is this a thing from a questline? is there something special that triggers this (or does it just happen randomly, especially when its night time and im alone at my pc just to make it worse)?

on a serious not, it happens after you finish Chains of Harrow, "Wally", as what the community has decided to call "it", pops up randomly at random spots on ths ship saying "hey kiddo"

It's the aftermath of the chains of harrow. As far as we know it's completely random, and can a happen any time.
