Eventually, the two led their ever-growing group of tag-alongs to a large apartment complex. Sarah opened the door and removed a large padlock from one of the rooms in the back of the complex. Inside was an unlit suite, with two beds and a small desk set up. Sarah and Ebony took off their coats in the entryway, not wanting to get the rest of the room wet. Ebony spoke up as Sarah began turning on a lamp they had hung from the ceiling. The electric light was surprisingly bright, and lit up the room easily.

"This is where we live. The building I took you to earlier was one of the safe-houses we setup a few months back. Sarah or I will try to recover our stuff from there tomorrow." Ebony said as Sarah's kavat curled up in one of the darker corner's of the room.

"Now, I think you two owe us an explanation," Sarah said, turning to the Ivara and Rhino operators, "Who exactly are you two supposed to be?"

The two also took their cloaks off in the entryway, revealing Operator jumpsuits. The Rhino's Operator had short, dark hair, and a couple of small implants  (The somatic things in customization options) attached to his face. Meanwhile, the Ivara's Operator kept her Jumpsuit's hood on, hiding her face.

"Alright. I'm Kamos," Said the Rhino's Operator. "And this is Atela." He pointed at his partner, who was wandering around the house, inspecting it thoroughly.

"We came here to try and deal with the black market. We just got here today. We stashed our Warframes in the sewers, and made our way up here." Kamos explained. "During our first attempt at surveillance, we saw you walking away from... something. Anyway, Atela has a tendency to wander off. She ended up following you while I did surveillance."

"What about you, though?" Kamos asked. "Why are you here? Same reason?"

I'm not seeing anything, Chegar. Svytoj replied, still approaching the building. no void sigs anyway: I'm picking up a good amount of EMF emissions.
"I saw that, too." Chegar replied. "I had to look pretty hard at it to even see the void signature. follow the EMF, and you should find the target."
Svytoj looked around a bit, trying to get a fix on the magnetic readings.
That's when his eyes fell on Geordie.
Gotcha.

Geordie had exited the building and pulled his heavy sand-brown cloak around him against the rain. He started heading back towards the checkpoint, but stopped when he noticed the blue-cloaked figure approaching. He casually ducked into an alley and tried to find another way back to the checkpoint, hoping the blue-cloaked figure wouldn't follow.

There were clear signs of a large group of people having been here recently, though they had likely fled once the shooting broke out. A small elevated platform had been erected for somebody in the center of the crowd to speak.

A few stray rounds had embedded themselves in the street, though there was something unusual about them. They had punched through several inches of sheer concrete before coming to a stop. Furthermore, the bullets had a slight... luminescence... about them.

Cyrus knelt down in the puddle-covered concrete, gingerly reaching into one of the bullet holes. It took several tries before he could get a proper grasp on the embedded shell, but he finally managed to pull it free. He stood up triumphantly, taking a breath before taking a closer loom at what he'd managed to pull out.

((It's a bullet fired by a mesa's peacemaker. Your call as to if he'd recognize something as specific as that.))

"Well, we're heading to our main place of operations now, so fortunately that should be sooner rather than later. I myself am looking forward to getting out of this damn rain." Sarah said as they pressed on through the district.

Along the way, perhaps the most mangy and beat up Kavat Celeste or Jain had ever seen crawled out of one of the nearby alleyways, carrying a small rodent in its mouth. It walked over to Sarah, rubbing itself against her leg as it presented its catch to its human. Ebony looked mildly disgusted, though Sarah broke into a smile, kneeling down and scratching the filthy animal under its chin as she accepted his 'present'. It purred and leaned into the scratches, its eyes closing in enjoyment.

"I still can't believe that you actually touch that animal." Ebony remarked, standing several feet away from the kavat.

"What's wrong with Scratcher?" Sarah asked, "Besides, you were the one always saying we should get a pet."

"That's not a pet, that's a rabid animal with more scars than you and covered in more filth than the floor of a grineer warship." Ebony said flatly. The kavat turned to glare at Ebony with its one good eye. "Oh, and it also happens to hate everything that isn't you."

"That's just his way of playing." Sarah replied adamantly, rising to her feet and continuing on. The kavat followed behind, eyeing the newcomers suspiciously.

Ebony just shook her head in defeat and continued walking.

((Yes, Sarah named her cat Scratcher, probably the most uncreative cat name of all time.))

(no, the most uncreative would be calling the cat "cat")

Paying the male of the two no mind since he didn't direct the question towards them, Celeste and Jane walked into the tiny space and to one of the close corners.

Upon reaching there, both did they best impression of a cat coming out of the rain, shaking water all over though mostly into the corner.

"More or less," Sarah replied, refusing to elaborate. Unlike Celeste and Jane, she had reactivated her rain-shield at some point, and was mostly dry by now. She tossed the mutilated mesa onto the floor, eyeing it carefully.

"We'll have her shipped off to the galleon as soon as possible. Maybe they can do something to help her."

"You didn't ask." Celeste says simply with a grin. enjoying the easy button pushing. "At least it's not other...*fouler* fluids."

"But if you're that riled up," The hooded girl says, before bringing down her metal walking stick with a light Clack. All at once all the water molecules jump off the sprayed surfaces and ride the directed frequency out of the room and into the hallway outside. (something along the likes of this)

"While we're at it, grab a headset would you Jane?"

"Huh? Oh, sure..." the other teen replies, swinging her backpack around and digging out a small earpiece from within and handing it over to Celeste.

Grabbing it in appreciation, she puts it under her cloak and into her ear and begins mouthing off in silence, having a conversation with an imaginary person, or at least with someone nobody else can hear.

"Oh lots of things,  Celeste replies, counting off her fingers with her free hand. "Lets see... there's not die, get dissected, or tortured, find a way to get into the inner levels of this place, find some delicacies and booze for eating and takeout, find some high value objects and info that could be *borrowed* and sold and a huge markup, and make a killer profit."

"Celeste." Jane says, staring at the supposedly older of the two incredulously.

"Fine fine fine," Celeste waves Jane off like a kid being reminded to do her homework by her parents. "And get into the inner levels without dying, investigate the 'Frame trading market, and look into Hierarchy shenanigans if it arises. You know, minor stuff."

"I don't suppose you've got a safehouse we could use while we're here? We wouldn't want to take up what living quarters you have. Maybe with a shower?" Jane asks the overseeing Tenno.

"We chose this apartment block because its well off the beaten path, and unlikely to fill for some time. You can grab any of the empty rooms nearby and make them your own, though they're unfortunately unfurnished." Ebony said, "And there's a shower down the hall. Man, you're really hung up on that, aren't you?"

"But before you run off," Sarah interjected, "Any news about my Scythe?"

Geordie headed into the alley, then slowed to a stop as he settled on the reality that he was, in fact, being followed. He sighed and turned around to face his pursuer. "Can...I help you with something?" he asked nervously. "I don't want any trouble. I'm just passing through right now."

(You may have missed this.)

"That won't be necessary." The guard said, "You're clear to proceed. Dras Trethi."

"I trust my merchandise will be taken somewhere safe in the meantime?" Clogori asked, walking up to the Void scanner. He did have a plan for getting through but it relied on more variables than he was comfortable dealing with. He waited for a response before he walked through the Void scanner.

Cyrus turned the bullet over in his hands, spying some tiny Orokin writing engraved on the side of the round. Probably fired from a weapon of the Prime age. And the people who had access to that were Tenno. However, those Orokin fanatics could also be psychotic enough to use such weaponry liberally.

There was definitely someone using Orokin weaponry. He slipped the bullet into his jumpsuit's pocket; if he could get it back to a Void Trace Scanner, he would be able to identify whether or not it originated from a Tenno, most likely.

There was a void scanner back at the security checkpoint, though there might still be more to find in the area.

"It will be moved to a secure site after inspection, yes." The guard said, waving him through the scanner. The void scanner was blessedly silent as he passed through.

Cyrus zipped up his pockets on the jumpsuit before moving over to the platform thing that was elevated. Might be something of interest by it, or even on it. He checked the ground around it before climbing up on top of it.

Clogori walked onward, briefcase in hand. He didn't have any real plan to track down any buyers or gain access to the black market, so he'd figure he would get a hotel or do a bit of recon. Maybe I should see about some tourist attractions.

Celeste seems to wrap up her private conversation over her earpiece, as she pulls it back out of her hoodie and hands it back to Jane.

"I'll be heading to the roof before joining you." Celeste says to Jane as she begins tapping her way out of the tiny room.

"As for your question," she directs at Sarah, her voice echoing clearly despite already turning the corner. "I'll let you know in a few minutes.", she jokes, letting the implications sink in (or at least, the implication I'm *aiming* for)

"Retrieval is here," Dmitri said in Sarah's ear. Sarah nodded, and hefted the damaged mesa over her shoulder once again.

"I'll be back in a sec." she said, stepping out into the hallway, heading back out into the rain.

_____________

After walking up several flights of stairs, Celeste reached the roof. It lacked any sort of railing, and the thin layer of metal felt like it might give way if she stomped or jumped. As if that wasn't bad enough, the continuous rain made the surface dangerously easy to slip on.
