Need advice with Amprex Build for this Riven

I just got this riven which look pretty good so I asked a few people and the Critical + multishot + punch through seems to work well with Amprex.

And the negatives status duration does not affect corrosive anyway. So I decided to keep it and try to build my Amprex (8 forma) around this riven.

But I'm some what a newbie and need some advice on how to build this.

Please note that I really look for some input and have no intention of bragging what so ever. Thank you in advance for your input.

This is my 1st build = Corrosive + Hunter Munitions

This is my 2nd build = Primed Cryo Rounds add lot of cold damage but it messed up the corrosive build so it become Electricity + Viral Build instead

This is my 3rd build = Just the same Critical + Corrosive Build but add Hammer shot in there so I get higher critical damage

I'd suggest using dualstat elementals in the corrosive build. Then, Serration + Point Strike + Vital Sense + Split Chamber are kinda musthave, and for the last slot I'd either go with Munitions, Heavy Caliber or Sinister Reach. Sinister Reach makes it even more fun and with that punch through you'll be clearing everything, but it's a utility mod, so I'd understand if you'll want to change it to something DPS-generating for the endgame content.

-status duration means you should never use hunters munitions. I'd say you should only ever use a corrosive build as that can ignore the status duration, and this would be it: https://goo.gl/UcqMyG 

You could switch out stormbringer for hammer shot if you don't want to forma your amprex again. Lower levels can use sinister reach instead. Low meaning up to round 8 ESO.

Thank you very much for all comments. It makes sense that with -80% status duration I should focus on corrosive.

Although I have some questions about Hunter Munitions.

With Hunter Munitions I have 30% of getting slash proc on Critical Hit. With the riven negative status duration the slash proc probably only last a second or so. But with high critical chance all my shot will be critical hit plus high mutishot will increase number of shot which also increase chance of applying status proc. Would there is a good chance that the slash proc will be reapplied very shortly after the status duration run out?

Yes it would reapply, but you can have multiple slash procs at once, so it doesn't matter too much. Corrosive will give you the biggest bang for your buck with that.

Since slash proc can stagged, status duration be quite beneficial. 

So with my riven I may not take full advantage out of it.

Any suggestions which mod should I use? Hammer Shot for extra cri damage? Sinister reach for clearing mob ? Argon scope so I get lots of red cri? Or other mod ?

I generally stick any more damage I can. I'd toss in primed cryo rounds instead of hammer shot, or stormbringer.

Don't use Hammer Shot, and as I said, duals will net you more damage than the flat elementals against armored targets. Primed Cryo Rounds are going to lower the corrosive priority, and with the 2x90 vs 2x60 the damage difference is 2.8/2.2=1.273 which gets almost completely compensated by a single corrosive proc. 2x Duals + Serration + Split Chamber + Crits + Riven + Heavy Cal for when you need more damage / Sinister Reach for when you need to deal with large crowds of easily killed mobs is what you'll generally want.

I've made some adjustment which should give me more base damage. But both builds seems to need reforma one slot to get the most damage out of them.

Option 1: Cri + Cold + Corrosive 

If I forma one of V to - then I can replace High voltage with Storm Bringer which will give me higher corrosive damage.

If I reforma D to - then I can replace High voltage with Storm Bringer which will give me higher corrosive damage.

Why you gotta ignore the status? You never wanna replace High Voltage + Malignant Force with Stormbringer + Infested Clip unless you're facing like lvl 30- against which you don't really care since even the x2.2 base damage is enough.

Well with such shot status duration from my riven do you think it worth using Dual stat mods?

Corrosive status isn't affected by the status duration, the procs just permanently reduce the target's armor, so ye it is definitely worth.

To be completely fair, I overlooked Hammer Shot as a generally trash mod, but you've got a point, it might be worth a try in this particular weapon / build. Try putting it in the last slot of the build I've mentioned and test how well it performs compared to Heavy Cal for example. It's just a 28.5% "flat" DPS increase while the Heavy Cal is 62.3%, but the status procs can overcome the flat damage difference pretty fast.

P.S. You could also use Vigilante Armaments for the 35.8% DPS increase / more MS (that can technically increase the chance for proccing more status) / upgraded crits, try out the 3 and compare it for yourself.

Tested it out with Heavy Cal / Vigilante Armaments / Hammer Shot in the last slot (my riven is very similar to yours), seems like VA > HS > HC in this case. I'm gonna try to get a better sample size for the more accurate comparison, but the final build I'd go for is Serration + Split Chamber + Riven + Vigilante Armaments + Point Strike + Vital Sense + High Voltage + Malignant Force. I'll update if that somehow changes after the tests.

Yep and it does in fact work better, tested a bit more and I'd definitely stick with the latest build I mentioned.

I switch HC out and replace it with VA as well will try this again tomorrow. My Amprex is at 9 forma now but if I look at this build I think I can do it with 6-7 Forma.

I'm not sure which build you're referring to exactly, but yea you gotta switch HC for VA and 90's for 60's in the first page. And I think with your previous 5 madurai 2 naramon 1 vazarin you could fit that in: VA+Riven naramon for 14, Serration+Split Chamber+Point Strike+Vital Sense+Malignant Force madurai for 29, High Voltage vazarin for 9, 50 total. Technically even 5 is enough (Naramon for riven at 9, 4x madurai for Serration+SC+PS+VS at 25, leaving you with 26 for VA+Malignant Force+High Voltage which take up 23).

Bottomline is my riven have -80% Status Duration, any other proc aside from corrosive will only last split second.

And without corrosive proc taking away the armor Amprex can barely deal damage to high armor enemies like Bombard or Heavy Gunner.

After some test, I ended up with these 2 builds

1. Hammer Shot with dual stats Corrosive + VA 44% status chance

This build has lower based damage but the critical damage quite high I can get over 10K+ orange and red cri from this build.

With 44% status chance the corrosive proc is quite consistent. And the cri damage kill the enemy off really quickly.

2. Two dual stats Corrosive + VA 48.4% status chance

Replace Heavy Caliber with another dual stats so this build has a slightly higher status chance @48.4%.

The based damage is higher than the first build but critical damage is noticeably lower. And I cant seems to get red crit with this build.

Both builds can kill single LV 125 Bombard using less than 13-19 ammo and both can clear mob of 8 LV 125 Bombards quite easily. 

Aside from seeing red cri when I use the first build (which is always nice). In term of "how long does it take to kill single enemy or mob", I cannot feel any difference between the 2 builds. 

For personal preference, I think I will go for the HS build just for a sake of red cri. ^_^
