  1. Just checking....isn't the Xbox OS a flavor of Windows? So "cross-platform" with the Xbox (etc.) might not be all that hard, compared to cross-platforming with the PS4 (etc.) which I think is a Linux-based OS. Not to mention dealing with Sony. %~0

But of course all of this ignores the graphical (and other) limitations of each different platform, the integration of the different perks that each platform got that the others didn't, and so on. All this would have to be reconciled, in order to create.........what? Other than some players getting what they want, how does this better the game as a whole? Does anybody really think there are tens of thousands (or even ones of thousands) of potential players out there who are saying to themselves, 'Boy, I'd jump into WF so fast, if only they had cross-platform play!'? How would this generate additional revenue to at a bare minimum offset the dev time spent making it possible? Remember, DE isn't going to do it just to do it. It has to make money, or it's a waste of time.

This is nothing more than my opinion, and should be taken with a grain (but only one grain) of salt. But I don't think this is worth doing, from a cost-benefit standpoint if nothing else.

  2. I hadn't considered this point of view; thank you OP for sharing it with us.

I have to admit that as this trilogy was being presented and evolving, my own perception of WF and DE was also evolving, unfortunately not for the better. This colored my perceptions of their work, and I lost interest in the quests' narrative, focusing instead on the primitive basics of who I was supposed to root for and against, and what did I get out of each quest. The former became too convoluted at length for me to care about, and so I focused exclusively on the latter. For me, this overly-simplistic view reduced the trilogy to sludge.

I was very disappointed with DE's decisions about the Plains, about forcing us to play not as living-armor-clad-superbeings but instead as these tissue-paper children. My POV regarding the Operators was, and is: if someone released a FTP game with the Operators as the sole protagonists, with no warframes at all, that game would be dead within days. It's not a popular gameplay mode, and people have been trying to tell DE that ever since the kids were forced upon us. Alas, DE wants what they want, players wishes be damned, and while I can't fault them for having faith in their own vision, I don't share this particular aspect of that vision. The more I'm forced by DE to play as WiddleEmoBoi, the more I look to Steam to see what else is out there to play. This greatly affected my interest in figuring out the narrative behind the quests.

As I see it through the OP's eyes, I understand at least some of what I was overlooking, and I'm grateful for that. Now I see much more of the role of the Operators. While I still abhor playing as an Operator, I understand their place in the lore of Warframe. I would prefer that they be phased out, moved back into the background, whatever you choose, but I understand them better now. I just still want to play as -essentially- a Jedi, and not as a powerless teen-aged Rey.

  3. I've noticed either the same bug or one similar; enemies that are nearly invulnerable to one weapon, typically my primary.

I say 'similar' because my usual loadout includes 3-Forma weapons. When I encounter one of these enemies against which my primary does extremely small damage, I switch to one of the other weapons, which typically do damage in a different way, and these enemies do go down faster against the different damage type.

So rather than these guys being completely invulnerable, they may just be overly-buffed against a particular type of damage.

  4. For me, it's Frosticle Prime. The armor and vitality of Rhino, coupled with plenty of team defense thru Snowglobe, and offense via his Ult. Plus, his Arcane helmets are a nice bonus.

After that, my sentimental favorite has to be Rhino/Rhino Prime; he was my first.

  5. Me personally, I don't consider most Limbo players trolls. But I find having one as a teammate unacceptable nonetheless.

In the normal course of using his Ult, whether intentionally or not, a Limbo can take away 2/3 of my ability to play the game/have fun, by removing my ability to deal damage at range. Even if they're not intentionally robbing me of my guns, handing someone I don't know that much control over my character is just not going to fly. Yes, I could switch to blades, or otherwise accommodate Limbos' playstyle...but why should I have to, especially when there's a simple solution - Abort whenever I'm teamed with a Limbo and re-roll the mission?

I'm going to guess that DE -which we know tracks virtually everything about their game- took a long look at the forums, and another at the Abort rate for team missions which contain a Limbo, and realized there was an issue.

Let Limbos be Limbos, but either make me selectively immune to the aspects that negatively affect me, or let me take away his abilities in a manner similar to the way he's able to take away mine. Either way would work for me. But continuing to force other players to have to adapt themselves to Limbos seems unfair, and -again, my guess- players have found a way to deal with the issue - don't play with Limbos.

If you don't want Spoilers ya gotta not hang around where spoilers are going to be.

Hell I managed to avoid knowing who we elected president for a whole week, anything is possible if you try hard enough.

Me personally, I wish I could have kept it that way.....

  7. Just finished cooking the Mighty Flighty, Zephyr Prime, and I have to say...this is the first Warframe I felt was visually pretty close to perfect, right out of the box (or the Foundry). Slightly winged shoulders looked great without any adornment, no Syandana seemed right, and I kept the original coloration as my first appearance tab (just blacker blacks and a golder gold).

    DE Design Team....nicely done.
