According to Steve’s periscope broadcast from March 22nd, the progress of the Sacrifice is going very well. The Story is done, the dialogue and gameplay aspects are being worked on and progress is going well. The developers just don’t want to rush this quest because it will be possibly the most biggest quest ever in warframe’s history. It is something very special from the heart of the devs to the playerbase.

Do not worry, Tenno, because this time “soon” is no longer “SoonTM.”

"May it be as you say."

No ETA but thx to Steve we know that it's making progress so if anything don't expect that we will have to wait too long for it.

The teaser for this dropped last July. Steve and I use different definitions of "making progress".

  3. Yeah, little-to-no damage dealt isn't going to work, for me and maybe for many others as well. My home system was robust in it's time but is several years old, and I'm always the last to spawn in, which puts me at a disadvantage under the proposed system. But a much more important issue is the large number of players who like to play Solo in group missions. They typically run ahead and end up with all or most of the kills, and leave very few kills for the rest of their "team". (I just assume this is a plea for attention, since they obviously don't need teammates to complete the mission, but whatever.)

This has been a thing for a couple of years now, and DE clearly has no interest in addressing it, so holding a lack of damage against players who don't want to compete against runners for kills seems unfair on it's face.

There's a difference between challenging and hard. IMHO, this event isn't challenging, it's just a slog. Not unbeatable, just intentionally hard, with little in the way of fun. Spending 20-30 minutes doing the same thing over and over (and then over and over again) isn't fun, at least not to me. And I guess I'm out-of step with some, because I don't generally do events for the rewards, I do them because either they're fun or they're not. In this case, the rewards would have to be fargin amazing to make me want to go through this again. I didn't do any research about what the rewards are, or which frames to use to cheese the big bad, I just jumped in and have at the bastard. So when Lephantis showed up again and again, I had no idea the fourth time was any different from the three previous appearances, I just knew the event had gotten tedious, repetitive, and killing Lephantis -again- wasn't worth slogging through yet another time. I bailed, and I guess I'll just have to live with the tragedy of not getting whatever the rewards are. Oh, well.

I rate this event a Fail. There are probably those who enjoy this event, and more power to them. For me, it isn't fun, just a too-long, too-repetitive time sink. And if it isn't fun, why bother?

  5. Fellow Tenno, I have a favor to ask. I’ve been stuck in the hospital with a serious illness since before Dex Ex dropped, and it’s looking like I’m going to be here until after the deadline to claim it. I asked my loving wife to log in for me tonight, but she didn’t see any notification or email indicating that it had been added to my account.

How are players notified that the skin has successfully dropped? My wife doesn’t game, so if I have to try and talk her through the Liset to the Armory, I probably can, but it’s second-nature to me and completely foreign to her, so it will be challenging for both of us. Is there a way of confirming the drop, short of explaining the Armory menus and sub-menus to her over the phone?

  6. I don't generally play on the Plains, but tonight I went out a couple of times. I came across a new drop that I don't recognize, and I'm wondering if anyone can tell me about it.

When it drops, the upper part looks a little like a rare mod indicator, with a swirling line around the vertical 'spike'. The lower portion is a bright glowing area, which looks like a Warframe/weapon part drop, similar to the way an Oberon part, a Boar BP drop, and so on look like. But instead of having a white/purple glow, these glow white/navy blue. Perhaps the weirdest thing is, when you pick them up, each one apparently has a name which comes up, in a display that looks very much like the Somachord display. But again, the associated color is blue, not purple.

Does this sound familiar to anyone?

  7. I run several different browsers, depending on how seriously I want to hide myself. I have the different browsers configured to grant me different levels of privacy: i.e., they run different Javascript blockers, tracking blockers, and ad blockers.

All of that said, my Pale Moon Firefox clone appears to have recently begun running afoul of a programing change on the WF website, which is prohibiting me from entering the site with my valid login credentials while using that browser. All this browser runs is a Javascript blocker (NoScript).

This clone is not the most current version of Pale Moon. But this same out-of-date version and script-blocker has had no issues logging into the website until a couple of weeks ago. Starting roughly around Thanksgiving, I enter my valid credentials, satisfy the CAPTCHA, and then get a message which says "Invalid Email/Password". When I use a less-protective browser, these same credentials are accepted without issue. Clearly, despite the error message, the issue isn't with my credentials.

Please review your recent changes to the website, and see if some new addition is incorrectly preventing valid users from entering. The problem could be on my end, but since nothing has changed in my browser configuration recently, I suspect the problem is on your end, possibly involving a Javascript.

(The easy answer would be to simply dump the problem back on your users - 'Use a different browser/stop blocking our scripts' or something similar. I hope you won't stoop to this, as it presupposes that visitors to the site have an obligation to leave themselves open and vulnerable to what use you wish to make of them. I respectfully disagree with this philosophy.)

Basically the main thing is, you want to waste time, stand around and open every box/kill every enemy.

most of us want the reward for the alert, adding another 1k salvage to my pile of 10 million is just a waste of time, and can easily turn a 5 minute mission into a 15 minute mission and it’s not like those extra 10 minutes give us anything ? 20 more kills won’t even get 1 more rank on your weapon, and stockpiling a ton of common resources that aren’t even needed late game is literially just a waste of time.

just play solo if you want to play a slow game of open every locker, but most of us want to play space ninjas bullet jumping around, killing everything then leaving.

Hmm. What you dismissively call 'wasting time', I call 'playing Warframe'.

From your comment, you appear to disregard every aspect of the mission other than gaining the reward at the end as just 'wasting time', when those things are the reason why I personally enjoy playing Warframe. And you speak of a 15-minute mission as though it's bad or wrong in some way, or as though running the same mission in 5 minutes is somehow better, or more desirable. It's not. It's just a different way of playing the game. Yes, you're certainly free to rush through the mission, essentially ignoring everything other than the reward. Many people play that way. But that doesn't make it the "right" way to play, just "your" way of playing. I'm not wrong for playing the mission differently than you, and because neither of our playstyles is "right" or "better -just different- IMHO neither of us should have to put up with the other, if a way can be implemented that allows us to avoid inconveniencing each other. The 'block' system I envision allows for exactly that, and nothing more.

Put another way, wouldn't you prefer to avoid getting stuck in a mission with me, opening every locker, if you could just click a button and never have to put up with me again?

And BTW, if "most" people actually did spend the time to kill most or all of the enemies in a given mission, I'd be happy to play with "most" players. But in MY experience "most" players who rush missions just run like hell to the end WITHOUT killing enemies. Often I'll finish a mission with 25 or 30 kills and have double the total of all my teammates' kills combined.

If your idea of playing WF is simply ignoring most of what the developers worked hard to put into the game, just so you can collect the sparklie at the end of the mission and race off to chase some other sparklie.....then you and I have a different idea of what it means to "play" a video game. I'm not right, nor are you wrong...but I sure as hell don't agree with you.

  9. If you're old enough to remember Microsoft in the 80's and 90's, DE and operators are like that.

'You think you own your computer, but we run your computer's OS, and we know what's best for us. And you. So -politely- sit down, shut up, and do what we tell you. You're not in charge.'

DE clearly believes it has the right to tell us how to play it's game, and they've decided we ARE going to play with Operators, whether we want to use them or not. And that's that. Because we aren't in charge.

That may be a little blunt, and over-simplified, but IMHO it's true.

I don't need to know the problemsoperators have a lot of problems, so does a lot of things in warframe. No, what i want to know the true reason you hate them.

Because WF has always been about player super-powers versus overwhelming numbers of enemies, and Operators' powers are weak, they're flimsy little snowflakes in terms of durability, and they don't fit into DE's already-chosen gameplay at all.

But at least for me, my biggest reason is that DE forces Operators down our throats. Players have clearly demonstrated they don't like them, and DE has just as clearly said 'Too f'ing bad, you WILL play them because we're going to MAKE you play them.'

Don't care for being pushed around by developers, especially when DE's also forcing ever-increasing amounts of grind down that same throat.

My suggestion is pretty straight-forward: they're clearly a bolt-on, and an obvious misstep on DE's part. Unbolt them, and reconfigure what tiny bit they do add to the game into some other WF's powers package - hell, just add a 'chest-beam mode' to every Warframe, craft a new key-bind (consoles may present a stiffer challenge in terms of button-assignment) and problem solved. Obviously that's an over-simplification, but I can't imagine it would take that much time to accomplish, compared to how much time they've already invested in forcing us to use them.

"this doesn't affect me, so i don't want it."

Based on some other responses, I might be wrong in my understanding of how the skins or 'model swaps' work. If so, I bow to superior knowledge on the subject, and withdraw my objections based on my own faulty information. I'm wrong often.

But why am I wrong for not wanting it because it doesn't make a difference to me? You're absolutely correct, that's exactly what I meant. If others want what the OP is suggesting, are they also wrong for wanting it because it affects them? It sounds like you're saying I'm wrong to disagree based on personal preference.

Based on what? Prime access is, for all intents and purposes, their main money draw. What could possibly indicate they were going to offer a monthly sub?

My assumption is based on the fact that DE's weekly "Tenno Support" new-weapon drops have all but vanished, while their skins, TennoGen, cosmetics and other sparklie drops have greatly increased, all of which generate revenue for DE, and which Tenno Support drops as a rule never did. Also, with the Plains DE is developing a micro-transaction market for fish and minerals. Not directly with them, of course, but as long as every single Platinum has to be bought from them, they don't care where (or IF) that Plat gets spent. Plus, over the last 18 months you probably noticed, as I and many others have, that the grind has steadily gotten worse and worse, which has the function of nudging players towards just buying Plat and making purchases. DE is monetizing Warframe, in ways they never have before, and in the same direction as they're currently heading lies the possibility of adding a 'Subscriber' package for those who want one and can afford one. I think it would most likely be a mistake, but I think it's reasonable to conclude they're at least thinking about it.

And what are you basing your assumption on that Prime Access is their main source of revenue? I've spent hundreds of dollars on this game but other than a Founders Package, I've never bought a single Warframe package deal ~ every dime I've spent other than that has strictly been for Plat buys. Going by my experience, I'd say the main revenue stream comes from Plat buys. But I'll admit, that's nothing more than a guess. I also see no reason why they couldn't add a Subscriber tier, keep Prime Access, and just offer a discount for Subscribers making purchases.

  13. Well....for one thing, I assume you know that skins aren't new weapons, they're just new digital "paint jobs" for existing digital weapon designs. It's like wraps on cars - you can't just take a wrap designed for a Honda Fit and plop it onto a Ford F-150 truck. So skins made for specific weapons really can't be applied to any other weapons, without substantial under-the-hood work to adapt them to the new weapon's characteristics, animations, etc..

Secondly -and I can only speak for myself- but I've never taken the time to admire (i.e., pay the slightest attention to) another player's weapons. Their 'frame? Yes, on occasion. But weapons? Nuh-uh.

And thirdly....I don't care that the Zaws are ugly, as long as they kill Greenies.

So for those three reasons, I'm sorry but I don't agree with you.
