If I hold out with the hope that I'll get my heirloom collection over, and don't purchase it on Xbox, but then they don't let us merge, I'm out the heirloom pack. If I just go ahead with the link now, I still have time to buy the heirloom pack. If I buy the pack on Xbox and then get a merge, I've wasted another $90, and I don't get to do cross save during my break from my master's program. I won't really have time again until next September. For me, the link now is just lower risk than a potential merge later (which based on the updated wording in the FAQ, seems unlikely). -
I'm about to give up on this. My only holdup at this point is the heirloom pack, and waiting until January for the inevitable "we are not going to allow your accounts to merge" removes any chance of me buying it again. I don't know that I'll even bother. I was already prepared to lose my PC account before the merge announcement, and I had already purchased the pack. I've traded all my unique items to friends, so I'll just pick it up again. I'll have to farm out some items again, but it won't be unbearable. The whole situation sucks, because so many of us were blindsided with the updated merge terms. We're missing out on an amazing opportunity because we have unplayed clone accounts. I'll give it till this afternoon for a response, but I'm not hopeful after reading all of these posts.

This is a big part of what's frustrating me. Let me know I'm screwed so I can move on. At the moment, I'm just in limbo. I want to know before the heirloom pack disappears so that I can decide whether or not to purchase it again.

I run into an issue with waiting on this one. My holdup is the Heirloom pack. I bought it on PC, and I can't merge that account into my Xbox. If I wait until the end of all this for a fix (or more likely the lack thereof), I lose out. It would be nice if they would address the issues before moving to the next wave, when even more people will have the same issue.

I'd say the only thing on my PC account that I truly care about is the heirloom pack. I paid $90 for that right after tennocon, and the link would rob me of that. Everything else important can be held by friends, but having to pay another $90 seems ridiculous. I don't need the plat on xbox, and most things on my PC are duplicates anyway, other than maybe some other cosmetics. I just don't want to be in a position where it feels like my past 100+ hours and $100+ in the game have been wasted. It feels like I'm being stolen from.

I hope we hear something on this soon. I understand not letting cloned accounts recombine, but that's not what any of us are trying to do. Losing that much time/money for no good reason sucks. I will seriously be reconsidering my return to the game at this rate.

I really hope this topic is on their radar. It's an extremely frustrating circumstance that has us standing to lose thousands of hours and hundreds of dollars for a platform that so few of us actually ended up playing. I don't think I even made it an hour on the switch after copying my account over.

I just ran into the same issue. I'm MR29 on xbox, but I've moved to PC and have a lot invested now. I copied my account to switch way back, and I haven't played it for even an hour. The inability to merge my xbox and PC accounts together when they have no relation is frustrating.
