I have a pretty good connection from where I am, so this sounds really weird.

According to DE you did lose connection.

There are many reasons for losing connection, most common is due to wifi or non optimal cables, but it could be as simple as your ISP or any ISP between you and DEs servers changed the routing direction, or had some maintenence.

It happens, the internet is unreliable, no matter how much people try to hide its inherit unreliableness.

At least SOMEBODY here has some semblance of sense.

TBH I can understand people getting upset about some language, and I can understand DE wanting their costumers not getting upset.

But lets be honest suspensions for using words from an unpublished baned list is just lazy IMO

Hehe "devalues the boring grind" ...you just proved my point about trials. The only "vets" complaining about lack of "endgame" after the trails got removed were only mad because they lost their platinum honey hole.

You seriously think the eidilon hunts are more broken and have stricter frame requirements then trials....hehe no.

I did'nt sell any arcanes so not my plat pit.

Lets go over a good Eidolon setup:

    Trin required.

    Volt required.

Harrow can be replaced with Oberon or Limbo.

Chroma can be replaced by Octavia or Rhino.

So 2/4 frames are required 2/4 frames have alternatives.

Weapon choices are Lanka, Vulkar Wraith, Rubico, Vectis Prime and Euphona.

Lets compare that with a good JV setup.

    Nekros nice to have.

    Speed Nova nice to have.

    2/8 frames had prefered picks

Weapons what ever you could do damage with.

Eidolons are plauged with altars not getting enabled, random teleports, low end PCs not being able to join without goin though cetus, and randoms joining if the game is set to friends only.

JV had a golumn that buged out at times due to abilities, but rarely so bad it messed up a run.

Trials got removed for no other reason than to force players to use the node DE put work into, and hyped beyond what it actually is. And quite frankely they were milking the Plains cow way too hard before adding 2 more colour variants of eidolons.

They were long boring missions that required you to use specific frames and spam one ability over and over. Sure the second trial was better but still boring and broken.

And moving arcanes to shorter more broken missions with much stricter frame requirements was a fix?

Sure you can now get 9-12 arcanes in 50 min compared to 3, but that just devalues the boring grind.

I agree, relics are fair to everyone, unlike keys. you are correct about this being a great change!

Yea it's fair since no matter what you do you also get the reward.

It's also fair everyone gets a gold throphy in things that are called events.

Also everyone should get Excal Prime cos that would be fair.

Clan tech should be free so everyone got it.

Potatos and Primed Chamber should be rewarded for doing weekely missions where you 1v1 a lvl 1 charger so everyone gets enough.

There should be 50 modslots on frames so all builds can be used all the time.

And last but not least forma should add not replace polarities.

  6. @Forcereborn A ping test wouldn't help most of the time, as the usuall issues are unstable packet trandmissions due to WiFi interfefence or lack of bandwith, which can't be spotted by a pingtest.

@LSG501 When has minimum requirement actuaĺly stoped anyone from opening a game? Changing the "minimum requirements" would just mean a lot of work for DE to test how the game functions on multiple generations of hardware, and in the end it wouldn't matter as someone will ignore their AV eating CPU cycles, the browser eating RAM, or the cryptominer of the day eating GPU cycles.

A simple "Want to host", "Dont want to host", "Dont care" switch would be much simpler.

  7. Legend says if you change pc type to laptop in settings, you host fewer sessions.

But there should be an opt out of hosting option.

It's extremely frustrating for all involved when a potato gets host, and there is almost nothing the potato owner can do about it.

  8. Before Volts rework the shield did scale with strength.

On the one hand I miss the scaling, on the other it now forces me to have a more balanced build, so now I don't pop a maxed speed multiplier on my teammates, when they dont expect it.

While hilaroius with friends pugs tend to get anoyed when they faceplant into walls.

3 goes into 24, 8 times. So one day would be eight PoE cycles. Give a player 12 hours to play per day (barring chores and personal care), and they could play four cycles of the Plains.

The way it is now, two Plains days are 300 minutes which is 5 hours. Thus, each day carries 9.6 PoE cycles. That means the final 0.4 (which is one hour in its own) goes into the next day and screws up an otherwise solid, consistent cycle, setting that day’s cycle time forward, every singular day.

    Think you are missunderstanding.

The point is to not have a length that divides 24 evenly.

That way people who only can play at specific times can experience day and night.

  10. 1 minute ago, (PS4)Aerik93 said:

Worse? Day-Night cycle totalises to 150 minutes - two and a half hours. I read the patch notes when PoE came out for PS4, and it said that day in Cetus lasts 100 minutes and night lasts 50.

That’s just under two hours for day, and just under one for night. That also means that I can’t say, ‘oh 8 o’clock right now will be midday in Cetus, let’s come back at 9’, because the Day-Night cycle isn’t properly set to real life times.

Make day last 120 minutes and night last 60, so we can at least consider the time in three hour intervals rather than intervals of 150 minutes that are irregular regarding real life time.

There is a good reason for day and night being 150 minutes.

Imagine having a steady job, and having responsibilities, so you can only game certain times. Now imagine if that time always was day.

You don't roll your own floating point spec because you have native hardware for the standard specs.

Sorry to break it to you, but you won't believe what hacks I've done, and what horrible hacks I've seen done to save a few bits in transmission, or to save CPU cycles and still be code compatible.

However, the limit placed on damage is completely arbitrary if that is the case. f32 cannot represent 2,147,483,520. C# will round it to 2,147,484,000 to compensate for the imprecision, as an example. Which means we'd have to be using an f64.... but that has significantly more precision to go before it starts truncating values- hex follows, note all the zeroes: 0x 41DF FFFF E000 0000

Meanwhile, the i32 of this? 0x 7FFF FF80. Almost no wasted space, guaranteed precision out to the ones place at all valid values, and the precision requirement is rote enforced by the hardware rather than you needing to guard against any lossy values.

As you point out a standard 32 bit float can't reach the desired precision at the observed interval, but a 64 bit float can. Now if you stay inside the limit of 2147483647 you have reached the top number with 31 bits and precision of exactly 1, still not converting to an integer.

All you need to convert from a 64bit float to the float type I described is to right shift the fraction by the exponent of 31-<the current exponent>, or something along those lines, I probably have an off by 1 error.
Neat rounding to whole numbers from 64 bit floats, to the desired bit size, and when you need to load the values again you just plomp the values zero padded to the desired memory location.

You can self damage with the alt fire? I didn't know that.

Because it explodes a certain distance away from the player it never occurred to me that you could hit yourself with it. Anyone able to describe some situations where this can happen?

Ivara navigator or reduced flight speed riven, have fun getting 1 shot.

It explodes on fixed time, not distance.

  13. Corinth alt fire does self damage.

    The magazine is fine.

    Charge... no stop killing me.

Please try to know the weapons before you suggest how to "fix" them.

I've literally seen my health drop significantly faster by sped-up enemies. It's how the mechanic works. YOU SPEED UP ENEMIES THEY KILL YOU QUICKER. I can't believe people think I'm trolling. The dumb is real.

Kill quicker yes, my point is it doesn't matter if you die quick or slow, you're dead anyway.

Didnt you read my entire post, or did you just find it coviniant to ignore how nova would be beyond OP for bounties?

PS we dont think you're trolling we think you are a standard forum crusader, who hasnt plaied the game, makes up things, is saltie due to getting downed with unmodded stuff, who somehow has a founder account.

For anyone curious, maximum possible positive signed integer is 2,147,483,647. Which means technically the game stops you 127 from the maximum possible amount of positive damage based on the i32 data type.

    Which makes me curious....

What are those last 7 bits' worth of values reserved for, and why were they reserved instead of reserving clearly-invalid negative values?

    2^30*sum(2^-n) where n is from 0 to 30

equals 2147483647 so the number is probably some type of float with a max exponent of 30 and 30 bits for the fraction.

  16. I've never liked grineer consles, partiually due being reaction time based, but more so due to not being able to time presses to where it looks like I should press.

My technique for grineer consoles is spam space untill about half are done, and then switch to just listening for the clicks.

Hope this can reduce the pain that is grineer consoles, while DE consider making them more usable, even for the cost of "grineer looks".
