  1. things we all want, but won't get:

    • firing range with arsenal station (testing all weapons and all mods without loading screen would be too awesome)
    • museum with a wide range of display cases (donating my old boltor, quanta, rhino or carrier for all to see their xp/used%/kills would be fun)
    • vault with unlimited storage (storing my rarely used equipment in dojo until DE finally fixes it would be useful)
    • command center / administrator panel (i would like accessing all research/teleporter/coloring/building/tradeing trough a single room/menu)
    • rooms which look being lived in (atm we can only clutter the rooms with unmatching props, what i really want is: railings on plateaus and stairs, planters in roomcorners with unique trees, decorations matching the rooms style, chairs and tables for a clan gathering, ambient music for gardens, usable sun lounger, couches and benches, ... you get the idea, simply no cold, steel or empty space station)
    • an option to build old style tiles (yes i am still not used to the new hospital style)
    oh, and the red things are the things i mean when i say we won't get them.

    official statement from DE is because "they don't fit the grid layout".

    no, never ever. DE made it painfully clear that we never again will be a able to build those beautifully designed rooms.

    dojos which still have old tiles can keep them, but are forced to use the new design for new rooms. every time i wander around our dojo and end up in a new room i just want to cry.

    a simple firing range, where i can switch my mods and weapons to immediately see the difference.

    or a team training room, where we can switch warframes and mods to immediately see the difference.

    no more going back and forth to your ship just to switch one mod. that would be AWESOME!!!

  4. Use Trinity with Vampire Leech, if your teammates does not have full energy, their shield will not go into the overshield state.

    Thus spam EV until their shield turns purple.

    since overshields stay even if they have no energy [rage mode] i request them to die when they need an energy refill? [/rage mode]

    that is my point exactly

    i can see overshields and replenish them in time critical situations, but

    i can not see energy so i have to guess when my team mates run low.

    and spamming EV is also a bad idea because then i don't contribute damage output to my team.

  5. Maybe if everyone wasn't so pessimistic/hopeless/forlorn about forma timewall reduction threads, some would actually succeed.

    i would call that realistic.

    here some background information regarding timewalls:

    in order for platinum to have a trading value, DE needs to draw it out. this is done using different methods:

    • common cash shop items (if you don't want to grind in order to get something, you can buy it and have it immediately)
    • exclusive cash shop items (DE limits itself to cosmetics and boosters, no pay-to-win)
    • additional inventory slots (since you need a big rooster of warframes this is definitely pay-to-win)
    • timewalls (if you are impatient, you can spend money to speed it up, again no pay-to-win)

    timewalls are commonly targeted at children and teenager. because of their curiosity and impatience, they are more prone to spend money to skip little delays. also, if timewalls are set too high or too common so they become a pay-to-win factor, players will loose interest in the game.

    that said, i think the foundry build times are good as they are now. the only change i would have made is all daily items having a 23h build cycle. that would give players a one hour window for their daily routine.

  6. The Frost rework isn't removing the invulnerability timer, and the stacking still works for Snow Globe.

    Not many Helms and Mods will be affected and DE will make it so they aren't worthless. DE is aware of the issue and are currently working on adjusting Chroma's Green effect.

    But IIRC they have already ideas to either compensate us for this or have another purpose with these stamina related items.

    hmm... it seems like i am missing some official statement.

    DE Favors PVE so I don't see those players getting discriminated against, or w/e you mean.

    so, the winners of a PvP competition (Dark Sector Owner) never charged taxes from PvE players?

    Its like asking for dedicated servers in DOTA or League.

    they only use dedicated servers, exclusively hosted by Valve / Riot.

    afaik. Warframe is the only PvP capable game, where dedicated servers neither exist nor can be set up.

    Was there ever a moment where this was discussed? If not, you might want to ask for it in the feedback section somewhere. See if you can get it on the agenda.

    looking back trough the forum i found so many requests for this. did DE really miss them all?

    Probably right on the UI customization. Also its such a non issue it isn't needed to be done.

    every twentieth or so topic in the UI feedback thread is about changing colors, symbols, crosshair, or moving/sizeing elements. i don't know how that looks to you, but i see a demand there.

    Perhaps it will fix your clearly negative view of DE.

    nah, negative are only my predictions. first thing i will do when U17 comes out, is happily jumping around different levels like a monkey.

    I have a prediction of my own: whatever DE will do with frost and parcour 2.0, people will flock to the forum and *@##$ about it, regardless of how awesome it is...

    yea, that's a given. i think the most complains will be about the removal of coptering and how they are no longer capable to escape from or catch up to fast enemies.

    I'm pretty sure that all those arcanes that have stamina will be replaced with a different stat.

  7. Why do you think, DE has never asked those of us with 80+ days playing, for feedback about the game?

    You aren't any more special or important than others because you've put more time into the game.

    Your feedback is still valuable, but not moreso than any other.

    you are right. our opinion is probably even worth less, because we remember and wish back the old days where we played badass ninjas and stomped every mob in a flash.

    a trip down memory lane:

    - before damage 2.0 my four forma rainbow build despair would still shred level 500 ancients like paper.

    - the old dojo design was so full of life. trees and vines everywhere. the walls full of rolling patterns. railings and pillars emphasising the feeling of home. i still hate myself for not expanding our dojo while we had that cozy tileset.

    - trinitys old blessing, outright team invulnerability for 28 seconds. doing a T3 Survival for hours, without anyone dying. reverting back to heavy melee attacks because we had no more ammo packs. all four of us collectively clobbering lancers in hopes for life support drops. being driven out of the mission because the enemies became too resistant but not because they threatened to annihilate us. *sigh* that have been fun times.

    ps.: hmm... "overly negative" ... does that mean i am burnt out? nah, who cares.

  8. since i am not very socialising but curious like hell, this time i would like to do something different. after witnessing countless updates and hotfixes, i am no longer surprised or angered by the obvious errors and nerfs DE commits. in order to relieve me from my boredom i will try to predict DEs actions. also, i am curious about your predictions.

    Frost Reworked (upcoming)

    Prediction: Frost will become useless for high level T4D runs.

    Probable Cause: by removing the invulnerability timer from snowglobe, bombards and nullifier will one-shot frosts bubble and the whole team at wave 40+.

    snowglobe is currently way to powerfull to be allowed to stay as it is. i mean we have a four second indestructible shell which (in combination with a trinity) can be spammed indefinitly. even level 100 bombards which are supposed to one-shot the pod are no match for this kind of defense.

    Prediction: Frost will get an armor boost.

    Probable Cause: DE tries to picture frost as a tank frame. but since ash prime and excalibur greatly outrank frost in the matter of tankyness, DE will try to give us the impression of a tank by increasing his armor value instead of giving him a skill like "Frozen Shield: frost bolsters his shield with ice particles. reduced shield damage by ([10/20/30/40]*power strength)%".

    Prediction: Frost will not get a speed boost.

    Probable Cause: DE tries to picture frost as a tank frame. they see him as impervious as a fortress, so they make him as immobile.

    Parkour 2.0 (upcoming)

    Prediction: many arcane helmets, skills and mods using stamina will become useless.

    Probable Cause: by removing stamina many arcane helmets, skills and mods will become bugged. DE will do only a quick fix by removing/changing the stamina using parts. e.g. Green Chroma aura will do only poison damage without any secondary effect, Quick Rest and Marathon will become clones of other mods, the beneficial effect of the Arcane Scorpion Ash helmet will be removed.

    Dark Sector Wars (in planning)

    Prediction: PvE players will be disadvantaged.

    Probable Cause: Dark Sector ownerships will again give a strategic advantage -> PvP capability will again become a recruiting criteria. dark sectors will still have PvP and PvE mixed (ownership battles and regular missions appealing to two different kind of gamers).

    Liset Automation (in planning, might be discarded in the future)

    Prediction: Automation will be only a minor help, if any.

    Probable Cause: only the foundry will get an automation upgrade, extractor replacement, kubrow stabilization and syndicate sigil swapping still needs to be done manually. also, foundry automation will get a fixed/dumb ruleset like: "build item X till you have no more resources" or "build item X till you have no more blueprints". smart rules like: "whenever you get a blueprint for item X build item X", "if you have less then Y of item X build item X" or "do not build item X if you have less than Y of resource Z" will not be available.

    Missing Features (my all time favorites)

    Prediction: Snowglobe will never get a health meter. (probably falsified in U17)

    Probable Cause: if they remove duration, it would make sense to display health.

    Requests: 2014-02-11

    Prediction: Dedicated Servers will never come. (i know, facts shouldn't pose as predictions)

    Probable Cause: since DE uses the dotnet framework for networking instead of creating their own networking implementation, warframe has a very high bandwidth usage. so enough bandwidth and processor power for dedicated servers would cost DE more than they earn. still, i hope they someday proof me false.

    Requests: 2015-03-23 2015-03-26 2015-04-04 2015-04-11 2015-06-19

    Prediction: Team Energy will never be shown.

    Probable Cause: adding an energy bar below your team mates health/shield meter would require changing the in-mission UI / networking code.

    Requests: 2013-11-11 2014-09-29 2014-10-30 2014-12-01 2015-01-05 2015-01-15 2015-01-22 2015-02-05 2015-04-02 2015-04-18 2015-06-05 2015-07-05

    Prediction: Customizable Inventory Order will never come.

    Probable Cause: i have no idea whats holding back DE. sure, we got some arbitrary sort options for mods, but why aren't we allowed to sort anything ourselves? heck, we don't even get a favorite/deprecate option.

    Requests: 2015-03-10 2015-03-30 2015-06-09

    Prediction: UI customization will never come.

    Probable Cause: first: DE has a high opinion of their artistical capabilities, and i have to agree. second: switching from a hardcoded UI to a scripting system, needs a hard and extensive recoding.

    back to topic:

    DE needs to earn money in order to supply us with Warframe. there are several ways to achieve that:

    paid subscription: only a few games succeeded with this strategy and even fewer are still around (e.g.: EVE online).

    free to try: forcing each player to buy untradeable cash shop items is also ill advised, unless you already lost your reputation.

    free to win: competitive games have the benefit of public viewing. but you need some serious public relation to make a profit (e.g.: League of Legends)

    free to trade: those who have time can farm rare items and those who have money can buy those items. its a slippery slope but if you manage to walk the fine line you will make a profit.

    when DE gave us the trading posts we all knew the way this game was rolling. some of my friends accepted the change, some did not. so, complaining over a working system which keeps the game alive is not very helpful.

    if any of you know of an alternative way to keep the game alive, i would like to hear about it. because i don't know any. until then i keep on gambling with my void keys.

  10. We can brainstorm an idea from thousands of viewpoints, refine it and whatnot within hours, minutes.

    i wish i could believe that, but this poll shows otherwise.

    because many people did not find the third option:

    911 people voted: "screw RNGesus!"

    5632 people were successfully deceived by DE and chose the lesser evil.

    and only 1829 people voted: "give us a real choice DE!"

    i see we have quantity, but we also lack quality.

    reading the comments i was baffled how many people didn't understand that DE shot their own foot by giving us T4 keys for only 1K standing each. most people just demanded cheap keys, instead of a viable alternative.

  11. This is without change to the build items, I just want to be able to schedule rebuildable items continuously and automatically, which includes formas, restores, derelict keys, ciphers, specters, power cores, and the new rare resources.

    nice idea. DE could wrap that up into a quest to restore ordis/liset to former glory.

    the Autopilot would allow independent extractor gathering/deployment. an attached Production Lane would allow the foundry to automatically gather stackable items. upgrading your arsenal with Reactive Paint would allow you to change all syndicate sigils on all frames and all configurations with a single click. an Inventory Link would allow the foundry to automatically start production when your stock falls below threshold.

    that got me laughing so hard my sides are still aching.

    what could have been so abnormal you are too embarrassed to show us?

    a void trader with all items unlocked? a rock solid network code? a rng backed up by a user attached statistical database? client-server desync prevention using full object synchronization? low bandwidth network code by using customized bit streams?

    no, experience shows its just artistically or PvP related.

    the excalibur normal and prisma skins have been switched. all items/mods unlocked for pvp. colorizable wraith and vandal weapons. triple standing in PvP.

    just joking, mostly.

    i hope you get that segfault out of your system soon, because new and changed content have become the lifeblood of this game.

    that is one of many possibilitys. others are:

    - a search function (detrimental if implemented wrong like the mods menu)

    - category tabs (creates unbalanced list, detrimental if implemented wrong like the mods menu)

    - favorite list (detrimental if implemented wrong like the color picker)

    - tag selectors

    - user sorted list

    the biggest problem however, is DE's inability to give us the chance to create our own list order. microsoft for example makes extensive use of innate patterns since the beginning (desktop icons, start menu tiles, ...). every mmorpg out there has a user sorted inventory (except games primarily targeted for consoles).

    a surprisingly good example of a game gui is Deus Ex: Human Revolution. when i plug in my gamepad almost all gui input functionalities change. pc and console even have slightly different mini-games.

    TES5: Skyrim on the other hand is a pretty bad example. the whole gui is only done for console gamers. the gigantic font size limits the inventory to only seven items per screen and item hotkeys are pretty much non existent.

    did you ever wonder: why are the most recognizable icons "only" lines and colors? why do you almost ever ignore the text attached to icons? why can you blindfolded point on your desktop and still hit the right icon?

    it all comes down to patterns. the human brain excels at pattern recognition. now, in the time of information overload, even more than in the past.

    "so, what's your point?" you may ask.

    sometimes warfame forces the player to use overly complicated patterns to accomplish a simple task. if you want to select a mod from your inventory for example:

    the image you have in your mind must be translated into the mod name, then you look at each mod, recognize the letters, read the words and finally match them against the mod name. since each letter is an icon without meaning in itself, reading words is a very exhausting pattern matching task. so if you have more than one screen of mods, your subconscious is overtaxed with pattern recognition and you feel uncomfortable.

    there are several ways to ease this sens of uncomfort. all of them are cumulative. here are the two with the most impact:

    1. iconification: a small image of the mod instead of text would render the lingual part of pattern recognition non existent. even the more complex images in the inventory menu, are much more easy to recognize than the textual representation of mods. then, only when icons are too "similar" in appearance and/or meaning, our subconscious pattern recognition fails and we need to do an exhaustive conscious pattern search.

    2. innate patterns: each human has patterns he "likes". so, you can "home in" on an entry of a list much faster when you ordered that list yourself.

    the team heath display is very very useful, specially to supportive/leading persons in the group. I've come across alot of people who didnt even know that team health bars can be displayed, you can toggle it by Z btw, and it looks similar to your sentinel/kubrow health bars.

    It's definitely useful, but why not add the energy levels in there as well?

    i mean it's mainly a coop based game anyway, most of the time i'd find myself telling a certain person to cast a certain skill, and they'd reply, 'no mana' 'no energy' or something.

    other times i'd find myself wasting a team energy restore not knowing everyone else had full of it already.

    In the majority of the sessions, it's not even remotely needed. but when things get serious, when the time it takes to ask a question and wait for a response could mean success or failure. certainly, a simple glance to the status bars would be much much more efficient.

    yea, i like playing trinity and the squad list is already a great help in deciding when to cast blessing. an energy bar would greatly help me in deciding whether to cast energy vampire or keep on firing.

    how hard can it be to add a small energy bar below shield/health?

    oh, wait, we are talking about bugframe. we waited two years for an iron skin health meter. and still waiting for a snow globe health meter.

    making sensible changes is not DE's strong suit. well, hope dies last, but is butchered nonetheless.
