  1. No more raids please, until we solve the problems that make the ones we have wildly unpopular:

    - Invite only lobbies lead to a needlessly annoying level of starting a game

    - "Puzzle" mechanics are only challenging for the first people that play a raid. Everybody else can just watch a video tutorial.  Especially brutally in final stage of JV, where you are going to have a very very bad time if nobody on your team has memorized the path.

    - Completely static gameplay and layout leads to knowing exactly how to break the mission, boring repetition, and elitist you're-not-doing-it-right team composition.

Raids basically have "Go away" written all over them by comparison to the bulk of Warframe's content.

So what everyone is saying is that there's no possible way for a single person to cap themselves if they're a higher mastery? That you are now forced to get together into a full group just to do what should just be 1-3 hours worth of grind at worst?

Well then that goes with my post. Forcing that is ridiculous, when no other faction rep ever has. They need to fix it.

    FWIW I agree with you.

DE seems to have this idea that "end game" == "team required",  when the bulk of Warframe doesn't require a team at all. Many people in fact prefer to play alone for a variety of reasons. Many people also don't have strong clans, or strong friendships, to draw on for this one specific fight in a game where it's not been a problem for them in the past. This entire fight feels excessively easy for a strong team that knows what to do, and punishingly hard and pretty much completely unfair for single players. Because if you can't efficiently farm quills rep and eidolon shards then you can't get to the higher ranks where the amps and operator arcanes are. And if you can't efficiently farm brilliant shards, you're locked out of cross-school focus passives and a massive source of uncapped daily focus.

They need to rethink this notion of forcing people to play together when their own stats should make it clear that not everybody playing Warframe is an ambitious extroverted team-oriented person that will have no issues with organizing for and completing "team required" content.  The reward for being a member in a strong community should be the community,  not gaining access to entire game systems that are effectively blocked to soloists.

What's not in the game at present is a way to challenge ourselves from the beginning of a mission while fully tricked out.

And my point was, the game is literally incapable of challenging you while you are invisible, invulnerable, unreachable, and permanently hard-CC'ing everything.  We have the tools to end any enemy regardless of level. Enemy level is, by itself,  not a factor in difficulty if you bring enough cheese to the fight. There is zero difference in gameplay between using Covert Lethality on a sleeping level 1 enemy and a sleeping level 500 enemy.  "But I don't use sleep arrow with covert lethality!" you're going to say. And that is a completely valid personal choice you have made. But it is definitely a choice you have made, to not use it.  Just as you can choose to not use shadowstep, or not use spin-attack macros with maiming strike, or permanent stay in Hysteria, or anything else that completely trivializes the game.

People want hard combat, but people also won't accept nerfs to all the stuff we have that makes hard combat impossible when we become unbeatable or make enemies unable to fight back.  So your choices are either limit your self to the point that the game is fun, or ask DE to introduce more enemies that ignore the game breaking things we can do.

  4. It doesn't matter if the enemy is level 1 or level 500, they won't see you when you're invisible.

It doesn't matter if the enemy is level 1 or level 500, they won't escape Bastille.

It doesn't matter if the enemy is level 1 or level 500, they won't resist Sleep Arrow.

It doesn't matter if the enemy is level 1 or level 500, they won't survive Covert Lethality.

    (shrug)

The temptation is to make higher leveled content, and then assign it higher rewards, but players have many forms of cheese that ignores level.  Warframe already exists in a space where difficulty is elective, to the extent that you can literally turn off enemies and prevent them doing anything. And since difficulty is already elective, if you want a harsher experience, just take off some mods?  Level 100 enemies with 8-forma Atterax is trivially easy, now fight them with an umodded Skana.

  5. Seems fine to fine.  Strong bane modifier on riven, use that weapon for the faction it has a bane against, and use other weapons for other factions.  If you have to.  But you probably don't, because your other riven modifier is probably damage, or multishot, or something that makes the weapon unbelievably powerful.

If you're completely married to one single weapon to the point that you have no interest in using anything else, then I don't see the problem with just having multiple rivens for that weapon or continuing to roll until you get the faction-agnostic "damage and more damage" one that you want.

I can't really see DE getting interested in making it easier to roll meta-friendly ideal rivens by removing all the non-meta traits.

  6. "A helpful community where no-one makes you feel like you're left behind"

That's not really my experience.  Even as a long time player who has a good grasp on how most things work, I often get completely left behind by players who have no interest in a cooperative experience. It's not uncommon to see players take every speed increasing feature available, race ahead at every opportunity, not wait for you at elevators or objectives, kill the boss before you ever see it... well, there is very little incentive in Warframe for a strong or skilled player to ever play cooperatively.  Especially with someone who is less skilled, less geared, or not specialized in speedrunning like they are. What I'm saying is that in the vast majority of cases, the game fundamentally does not require or reward teamwork and so a good number of people who can get through alone don't bother.  There is not much that is more demoralizing than seeing blatant proof that your presence was merely coincidental to the mission's outcome.

  7. Aiming your weapon improves accuracy, crouching does not.

Why no prone? Because space ninjas. We can move crazy fast, strike from the air, knockdown enemies with seismic waves, mess with their minds, freeze them in ice or time, set them on fire....     Laying on our belly and plinking at enemies from range is how soldiers fight, not how space ninjas fight.

  8. What he's saying is that the change to ducat values makes sense for NEW relics, where the less-valuable items become easier to get, but it also devalues OLD relics where the rarity didn't go down. The rarest thing in an old relic still has the drop rate of a rare item, but it isn't worth as much as a rare item should be.

He's got a fair point really, but I'm not sure what the solution would be.

Is it a big deal that the game is still "in beta"?

Some games wipe out user accounts when the game leaves beta, so that everybody starts out on equal footing and so that they can get rid of excessive amounts of player wealth or special tools that were given out during the beta period to help with testing. So, in games like that, you really only want to start playing during beta testing if you're okay with your progress being deleted eventually. As a result some people only pay attention to online games once they end their beta, because at that point your progression is safe.

However, Digital Extremes has already said many times that there will be no account wipes.  Warframe is in beta only so far as they want to people to understand that the game is constantly evolving and changes, sometime significant changes, are always possible. The game is not "done", so overhauls of systems, items, and balance can come at any time.

I honestly wouldn't mind starting over if they left or if accounts open on a legacy server.

I wouldn't mind experiencing WF as a new player again.

You can just make a new account.  As long as your accounts never interact with eachother, e.g. never trade or send gifts or multibox, then multiple accounts are fine.

It's definitely an excuse. But I do think DE should put a limit on Rivens or otherwise we will have wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy too much trash rivens on server coz like 9 out of 10 rivens are utter garbage.

If DE's objective was to milk as much money from people as possible, there wouldn't be a limit on how many riven slots you could buy. They'd let you buy as many as you want.  They are literally not making money, they are sacrificing potential sales, by having a cap.

There are technical reasons. It has nothing to do with their business strategy.

Do you understand how databases work?
The problem with rivens is that every mod is unique. There is only a small chance of 2 rivens having the exact same stats out there.
So each and every riven has his on "storage unit" in the database.
Not just like other mods. Split Chamber is always the same. It's not important who uses the mod. It has always the same stats. But for Rivens that's different.

Exactly right.   A normal mod in your inventory has only 4 pieces of information:  The mod ID, when you got it, the rank, and how many you have.

A riven mod has something like 30 different pieces of data attached to that one singular mod.  DE has to know the base ID of the riven type, what weapon it's for, what the challenge is, whether you made progress on the challenge, whether the mod is unlocked, its rank, its MR requirement, its reroll count, its polarity, what attributes it has, and what each of those values are.

  12. I can't think of any big reason why you would want to reset your account.  Warframe lets you have everything at the same time. Warframe Support can do it, if you have some amazing reason, but don't throw away any play time you already put in unless you absolutely have to. What makes you want to reset your account, maybe we can help you fix that or explain something.

  13. Every time this topic comes up, I must ask: what even is endgame?  What does that MEAN to you.

    Because...

Warframe cannot have have any concept of "reaching max level" where you no longer need to gain power or farm for rewards. That's leads to stagnation and death in a game who's foundation is basically to never stop offering players something new.

Warframe cannot have challenging combat unless players are denied the use of powers because we literally become unbeatable with powers spam, and nobody wants to give up powers (nor accepts sweeping rebalance).

Warframe cannot rely on puzzles or tricks because these are only difficult once, possibly never if you watch a tutorial before seeing the puzzle. Once you know how it works a puzzle isn't a puzzle anymore.

    ...soooo....?

  14. I don't see the point. It's already extremely easy to level frames and weapons, to the point that personally I think it's too easy. You can do it in less than 10 minutes if you try had enough.  This is how you get content creators offering multi-forma builds mere hours after a new weapon is released.

  15. If you think using a sentinel is required to get the most out of the weapon, then why not just use a sentinel?

Though I disagree with you. If you shoot 6 times with this thing and do not have ammo laying everywhere, something is wrong.

  16. I have a problem with cookies as well, where the forums will periodically just forget that I'm logged in.  I've tried deleting all warframe related cookies to get a fresh start, and making sure that the "keep me logged in" checkbox on the new login is enabled.

All of this started with the change to login procedure. The old system where we logged into the forum itself worked fine, but now that we have to go through the website it just won't take for more than a few days anymore.

    +1

Maybe some tweaks to his grenades might be nice, but "outdated"? As an entire frame? No.  Super awesome gamebreakingly powerful.
