  1. Since the example is forest from the trees here, I will make a simple example to make a clear point. If DE is a shoe company and they made a shoe last year that was a slip on, but this year added shoelaces to the line. The only difference is this year when you paid for the shoe, you got the shoe, but also had to go get the laces somewhere else. Just because they added laces doesn't mean the shoe is better, it just means this years model is complete with laces. DE is making people who buy weapons with platinum also go find the laces.

  2. If you were to bring up the point these are more like arua mods than basic ability for the frames, you have a valid point and we would have to restructure the debate, but to try and say these are not to be counted as part of the "complete" product is false and you will have no ground to stand on, they are clearly a part of the whole as the entire system is and was built around them, so to offer a product now with out these mods is offering us as customers an incomplete or unfinished product. Which leaves me with the same question, why as a customer, would I buy a weapon with my platinum?

  3. First off, not talking about crafted weapons. This is a thread about weapons bought with platinum (read before posting) Second, I'm glad you feel you have the stamp to okay this for debate.

It is a simple question, why is one product complete with mod cards included and the other product not a complete product.

Ask yourself, would you be okay with this practice if the frames were treated the same way? Is it value we are talking about or is it because the stances came later?

I believe if you really think about this question in the context of the total market and how other things are handled you will think this point may have merit and worth a debate.

  4. You ARE buying the complete product. The weapon. Weapon stances are interchangeable. If you were able to buy the weapon stance as well, then bam - it weakens the perceived value of all the other weapons that use that stance.

Either way, you're playing a game that focuses on dungeon crawling/grinding. You can't buy your way out of doing at least SOME grinding.

This is not complete product, just like the frames are not complete without their power mod cards. If DE took them away and made you farm for them, would you be okay with that practice? You can still use the frame, it can still run around and hold its weapons, you just can't use it with its bells and whistles. Thats exactly the same thing with these melee weapons.

  5. ok. how about this. we give u ALL the mod cards.

    ALL the levels.

    AND ALL FORMA'D.

then why would you play anymore? you've already maxed it.  wheres the satisfaction of leveling the weapon yourself.  learning to use it.

whats the point of playing missions if you already have all the mods you need. and you can already 1 hit kill anything.

grinding is HERE FOR A REASON.

this is just a silly response to a real question. No one is asking for something that isn't offered else where in the game. The effort comes from leveling the weapon and modding it out. The question is why sell certain products one way and these a different way. That is a valid question that we should think about, but these cheap silly remarks make these real questions a silly mud throwing contest, please move past this and really contribute some thought.

  6. There has to be SOME effort involved.

There needs to be SOME consistency involved as well. You can't have a business model that sells one product one way and another a different way. Either don't offer mods on all product or offer complete products on all platinum sales.

  7. If we pay for a weapon with platinum, why do we not get the complete weapon and still have to go farm stance mod cards for them?  Because this is a late added system does not make this an added feature, it only makes this version the complete version and people spending real money want the complete version.

If we buy a frame we get the four mod cards that make it the complete frame, we are not given the frame modless and then expected to go farm the 4 basic ability mod cards to complete it, why is it the case with the new melee system?

    9g8upwjpg.gif           "HOTFIX!!!!"

You had to know it was only hotfix today, they said the update was not coming in the live stream and when its this close to update they pull everyone in to get it out the door so we have nothing but hotfixes for a few weeks leading to updates and usually the week right after. PWE hasn't changed their routine... yet.

  9. http://www.gamespot.com/articles/warframe-dev-set-to-be-acquired-by-mmo-company-per/1100-6420936/

I was hoping that the hype was just a bad joke or to bring game into the limelight, but it turns out when they didn't want to talk about it on the Dev stream it meant it was a done deal and nothing left to talk about.

My favorite game has now been officially killed...struck down before release, just sad.

Taught me one thing, never spend money on a beta game again. No knowing what they may do in the future to throw it all away.

  10. Log-in rewards have been dated and a problem for some time, though they are a free fun little way to get extra gifts to people who log in every day. They can still be given in a better way to help not only fans, but DE as well.

Why not make this into a sort of veterans program with both short and long term goals in mind? Today (4th of July)it was brought up to make buffs apart of the log in reward system. This is a great idea of a rotating short term goal for all players. Have a 1,3, 5, and 7 day buff you get for logging in and have them be a continuous reward that rotates after the 7th day if you log in every day with out missing a day. The first day can be a quick buff that last a very short time an hour or two, like a resource rarity buff, while the 7 day buff can be one that lasts a few days, like a double experience buff.

As for the long term goal of the log in it could be like a veterans reward system and the more days you log in the better the reward is, this of course would count total days and not the stirng of days like the short term. An example of this could be a monthly pay off, where the first month of total log in days you get a coupon for 25% off plat in the store, the second month could be a gun or buff from the vault, the third month a special skin for a gun, the fourth a special prime weapon and so on. This not only keeps people wanting to log in, but makes it a need to log in so you get all the prizes.

Next, lets talk about the carrier power to replace the vacuum so that power can be moved to all machine pets. What if carrier had a built in loot detector that placed it on the mini map for you and made it glow (like the mod does)? This still give him his original feel of what type of helper he was without going too far outside the box.

  11. Everyone is taking a sigh of relief, but the fact is that message was spin and damage control. Nothing in that said they are not being bought out and that Perfect World isn't gaining controlling interest in the company. They can't say anything "legally" meaning there is something on the table and we are not allowed to hear it before it goes public so we don't run from the game. Mark the day and time, we will hear before the end of the month that Perfect World is in control and things will change as time goes by.

If there was nothing happening and DE still had full control of the project(s) that would have been in big bold print first line.

  12. Really? PWE? What the freaking F***? After all the money and time I spent on Warframe, it goes to those greedy bastards who'd sell their entire families for even the smallest of profits? I mean look at what they've done in the past! How could ANYONE ever even consider selling to these guys?!

If this goes down, I'm outta here. Not a threat or anything, a simple fact. Cold, hard, thoroughly pondered and weighted. Hell, I'd rather see Digital Extremes LtD burn to the ground rather than witness this... insult of a company get their grubby paws on it.

One thing's for sure, until I get ABSOLUTE, UNDENIABLE confirmation that the deciders at DE told PWE to go F*** themselves, I'm not spending one more cent/dime/whatever on Warframe.

To whoever calls the shot at DE, be smart about this. DO NOT let these mother effers in your house! Don't sell your soul!

P.S : I'm not sorry for the bad language. F*** YOU PWE!

    ^^
