  1. Hmm, glad to see a smart player.

I'd reccomend buying a warframe slot and then 4 weapon slots (Each purchase is two slots). This will keep you going in the game for a long &#! time. I played the game for about ~70 hours before I spent money on it, and I didn't have to then. Depending on the Warframe, it is a bit of a grind to get them (They require a lot of rubedo which is rare, especially at earlier levels). For your first weapons, I'd go for the Strun (If it isn't mastery 2, I cna't remember) it is an amazing weapon right now. It is weaker against Grineer do to the nature of shotguns, but that isn't an issue on earlier levels. I'd start working towards a warframe, though, as soon as you can...they are very costly to build and you'll need one sooner than you think. Ranking up later on, though, isn't as much of an issue because their is no benefit beyond rank 4 (I've heard rumors of weapon/warframe slots but I don't know for sure).

Somethings to notice: the game is very pretty and it feels pretty well polished, especially for a product in-beta. The combat is very fun and usually fast paced (it can slow down when you are exploring or hunting the last enemy in certain modes). Probably though, by far, the best thing is the development team, anyone with DE in their name on the forums. They are a very customer friendly team that seems to really care about their product and responds accordingly. For example, the game went down for a day or so a few weeks ago and they gave everyone who logged on (or tried to) during that issue 25k credits; it isn't a lot at later levels, but it is a show of good faith.

As for the cash shop, I wouldn't waste your money buying any frames unless it is one of the 75 platnium ones (like 5 bucks) and it comes with its own slot (all platinum purchases do). Don't buy any weapons with platnium, it is way easier to get them in-game (with the exception of certain ones like the Akimbo Viper which involves building two vipers and then building the Akimbo) One last thing on the business model: everything in the game, with the exception of warframe slots, weapon slots, and purely cosmetic items(paint, sentinel cosmetics) can be acquired for free. Second one more thing: The most you'll ever HAVE to spend on the game is 5 dollars which will be enough to buy slots so you can continue unlocking stuff, but I spent a little more because of how nice the game is.

    Edit

Additional answers: Yes, the game is pretty grind heavy, but it is still a very enjoyable experience (unless you are very unlucky).

P.S. Did I just play with you, the OP, or was that a guy with a similar name? It's a little blurry on my screen in-game.

  2. Don't spend it on warframes or weapons, doing this detracts from your experience form the game. Grind up and find the bps and build them properly. If you really want to. By slots, potatoes, and misc items like colors and sentinel mods. Also, buying a sentinel with credits doesn't seem like that much of a loss considering the high in-game price for them.

  3. This has never really occurred to me. I think the gender is more of a part of their personality. I haven't really put myself in to a game in a while. I think that is something more common with children. From what I gather, children put themselves into games and adults tend to avoid putting themselves in games. Possibly because children see it as what they could be and adults what they couldn't, but that is a whole lesson in psychology, me thinks.

Also, for those wanting bi-gender, imagine a female rhino. See, not so nice anymore, is it?

  4. Immoral? That word DOES NOT apply here. o_O

Could someone explain to me the hatred of using them? I don't use any, but I was wondering about it the other day since it would make melee a lot easier (creating macros timed to constantly fire instead of having to rapidly tap the keyboard)

Additionally, it would reduce strain on your hardware...never been a fan of button mashers because of the damage they do (even if it isn't a massive amount

    Edit:

Btw, I don't see the reason to use a macro to fire incredibly fast or something like that, but for making repeated events less tedious (like power attacks), I don't see the problem for it.

  5. So I've been pumping out Warframes lately and I have enough Rubedo for one more. I've currently built Ember and Loki and am building Frost, Ash, and Seryn. I also already have all of the bps for Trinity, so I could start building it as soon as I get the credits for it, but I'd have to grind for the Sys and Helm of Volt.

So, thoughts? * I know they are different warframes, but based on your experience with them and based on the ones I already have/am building.

  6. While I do agree they could slightly detract from the Warframes, they add an element of customization and show prestige that isn't easily done with warframes. The sentinels stand out in the often dark environments and they are, atleast to new players, hard to acquire. I also doubt they require that much development time to actually be put in to use and they do generate quite a bit more revenue for the game being the one of the few things actually cheaper to buy with platinum than credits.

Also, I like my wittle sentinel (Even though I don't have one cause I'm pumping out frames.)

  7. Add knockback to bullets, weapon accuracy, weapon zoom, weapon swap speed, lifesteal... there are a lot of options left unexplored yet!

Poison rounds, shield penetration, gun jamming, no-ammo cost, gun specific mods, aqua mods, combo allowing mods, reach mods (melee), mods with downsides to them.

Summarized: adding random elements in general would make them not "one trick ponies."

  8. ok have fun playing ME3

i guess ME3 is a beta game too if you compare both?

or ME3 is a game with allready 2 sequel and a compagny with allmost infinite ressourse?

Come back in 1 month or less warframe is allways evolving

I generally don't like posting direct insults, but damn you're stupid; Jesus Christ man! I know the game's in beta but the lack of variation is a very pressing issue...you can only add so many guns, swords, and enemies before it just dies. Granted, that point is probably over 100 hours in, but it is still a real issue. I don't necessarily agree with the OP, but the game does need its own edge (A super melee system or brutal difficulty or something) to make it stand out in the long term, something it needs sooner than later.

  9. The Hek would be a lot easier to obtain. It also seems like the Strun but better in every single way with the exception of clip size (Which can be sorta buffed pretty easily). I'm currently building the Boltor so I'll let you know how it is.

From what I know right now:

It does depend on what you are fighting. Shotguns are naturally less effective against grineer. The Boltor obliterates grineer.

With the current economy and how easy it is to get credits, I'd get both before it is changed.

  10. Maybe online gaming is not for you then. Also, you are missing something.... now, the game is more like it was intended to be.... it's not a punishment and the exploits were not the only reason for this balance change. Now, completing the mission has a meaning.... before, i always felt like completing the mission or not.... it just didnt matter.... same goes for defense.... why stop if it's risk free?

I'm really happy about this, there's always room for improvement, but i'm confident in this great team of devs

The problem I have with it is how unstable the game is. 1/10 games will fail for me because of host connection or a random bug. That may not sound like a lot, but it is very frustrating; one bad apple spoiling the lot so to speak.

  11. The only problem is how to design a system that could possibly differentiate between whats considered failing and someone doing a farm run then just letting themselves "die" to fail the mission. There's no such thing as a perfect system and loopholes will exist no matter how good the patches or fixes will come. I'm not saying its not worth time investing in it, its just a never ending battle.

    P.S.

I agree with the final verdict. It's essentially the same as you saying well i showed up for class but failed all my exams, why did I not pass the class?

If someone is that dedicated, F*** em. Let em have it. They would have to do it in single player or in private play so they can grief themselves. Otherwise, dying on purpose in a public game wont have nearly as reliable results.

  12. First off, most of these changes are not devious machinations of Digital Extremes cruel and hate-filled hearts.

These are changes put in place to moderate the community, to moderate our fellow players.

#1: Loss of rewards on exit/abort.

This is to stop people from leaving the game right after killing the boss. Not when playing solo, but when in a game with 3 other people.

It's horribly frustrating to kill the Jackal and then have half your team disconnect, forcing host migration and map resets, sometimes making the boss' loot disappear if you didn't get to pick it up yet.

Also, it feels bad, man. It feels bad when you realize that two of the people you were playing with don't give a $%&* about the game, about you, about the mission, they only wanted some loot.

Breaks immersion and sometimes breaks the game for anyone who doesn't leave.

    #2: Slide boost cooldown

They didn't remove the speed boost. I still use it to good effect, they just made it so that it has a cooldown. This prevents people from making speed macros which allow them to blow past normal players. This was a problem because walking through an empty map where 1-2 players have cleared everything gets really boring. Also, if they're far enough ahead of you, the loot will have despawned. Also also, once again, it feels bad. It feels bad to be making your way through the 5th tile and then hear that the objective is completed. Then, as you're contemplating having missed the loot from the boss, host migration! You now have no way to get any loot because the marker is pointing to the exit, not the boss room, and anyone who could have guided you there just gave you a big middle-finger and left the game.

    TL:DR

These changes inhibit griefing. Maybe it wasn't intentional griefing, but it was causing grief.

It also brings the way the game is being played back in line with the way DE envisioned it.

Makes it more game, less reward machine.

Punish everyone because of a few jack asses? Hardly seems fair. I never aborted like that on a mission, but now, if i fail or have to abort, I lose everything.

    Edit

And prevents griefing? All it has done is bring me a metric F***-ton more grief.

  13. The concept of morals you are applying is too basic. The galaxy hates us. We don't roll over and die. Galactic empires at war; and they are the enemy.

My personal opinion on the races:

The corpus are the only one that could be viewed as not evil because they want to foster unity between the world. That being said, they also want to examine our corpses so they can have more power. How better off is the world now that everyone has nukes?

The Grineer were humans that sought rapid expansion by conquest. The fall of the Grineer is inevitable; conquering empires usually don't last long. If they did manage to conquer the universe and cure their cloneing issue, internal turmoil would bring them down within a century via civil war.

The infested are a plague, made by the Orokin to defeat an enemy. They are a mistake of our past that needs to be eradicated. Also, hive minds, while sounding interesting, are f*ing terrible. Even if it inhibits our progression as a species, sentience is a very nice thing, wouldn't you say?

  14. I got my first Rifle Fire rate+ mod last night...after 80 hours of game play. Are certain mods more or less common/uncommon/rare than others or am I just really unlucky?

Since I doubt anyone aside from DE has any actual numbers to back this up, I was more wondering if people have any other mods that they haven't found after a lot of game play or something of the like.
