  1. I don't know how you guys still have faith that DE will ever improve the parkour  ; ever the evolution of the maps / movement have been geared to either bypass parkour  or to  ignore it entirely  and even in some cases confine us in smaller maps to take away our mobility

Parkour 2.0 is overly complex , and really hard to do  - when they just won't fix something simple as changing the stamina drain on the shield (Shiva and aegis )  to where it can bock , or  to bring back charge attacks  and bring quick block  back there just not going to bother with something as hard to do right as  parkour .

Even spy 2.0 it 's just alot easier to  use powers / direction melee  than to parkour . i just don't get why anyone would have faith that parkour  will ever be worked on .

Pffft, nay-sayer. Go rain on someone else's parade. This one's still loud and proud!

    (And because Geoff said so)

  2. Ok, first off: Whoa. Take a chill pill, dawg.

    chill-out-music-week-5-2014.gif

Geez, now that's out of the way...

For me, it's not so much the Bombards that are the issue, but the unholy union of Bombard and Nullifier. It's like a Bear with a Gun:

    bear-1.jpg

It's like, wtf am I supposed to do? And now that DE improved the AI so that they all try and crowd inside a Nullifier's bubble, each pairing becomes a war of attrition (which you lose in T4), or you attempt a mad kamikaze rush to kill the Nullifier and CC the Bombard (Godspeed!). I'll admit, it's a challenge, it just doesn't feel like the challenge I'm looking for. Really, it's just "keeping shooting and hope they die first" or "rush in and hope you kill them first".

I guess it all comes back to the fact that we need an AI 2.0 and some better execution for challenging enemies.

  3. Poor Vauban, he has what has to be the most flair-less set of animations in the game. Worst still, his curious design lends itself poorly to the animation sets of other Warframes, leaving him with a depressing lack of personality.

    Noble, just tooling aroud:

    2015-02-20_00006.jpg

Looking like a wood plank with a bad attitude, fists clenched, ready to bore the system into oblivion. Humor beware.

    Noble, action pose:

    2015-02-20_00005.jpg

Now, looking like a wood plank with space-constipation. Poor Vabs...

    Agile, just chilling out:

    2015-02-20_00008.jpg

I don't have a problem with this one. As far as agile poses go, this one is pretty ok, since most others look like they're about to fall over, or half-way through a leg lunge.

    Agile, showing off:

    2015-02-20_00007.jpg

    [space-constipation intensifies]

Why the boring poses? Where's the flair? Here a few ideas to put a spring in this space-Frenchman's step:

-Takes out a few grenades and juggles, ending with an orbiting finale.

-Pantomimes a wall, creating a miniature Bastille section

-Pulls up a Cephalon from a wrist comm, does some debugging

-Pulls up a holographic screen, presses all the buttons

-Gets a grenade maglocked to his hand, struggles to unstick it for a bit.

I don't know why I imagine him clowning around. Maybe it's the space-shoes, the space-Frenchiness, maybe he's just a goofy frame to begin with.

All I know is that this Frame is in desperate need of a flair-buff.

    P.S.

The Yamako Syadana placement could use a tweak:

    2015-02-20_00009.jpg

The blue outlines the spine plugs, the red outlines the Yamako's horns. The yellow attempts (poorly) to show the horns being moved and centered on the spine plugs, removing clipping issues and looking like the Syadana is integrated with the frame.

  4. My point was that all your "problems" with the bow are from you using it the unintended way.  You want to remove the unique mechanic from it and make it into a bland, boring, single shot weapon like a large amount of weapons already in the game.  Not only that, your changes make it 1/3rd as powerful as the marelok.  From the sound of your changes, you want to remove charge and add a secondary fire to the right click?  Not sure where else you would put that without having a charge attack.  These changes do almost nothing to the damage which is the whole reason the gun is awful.

Ah, I'm so sorry! It is clear to me now that the reason for our miscommunication lies in the fact that you may not have read or processed my whole post! Please let me help you understand my OP!

Firstly, let me give you this:

    034825.jpg

Now, let me redirect you to my OP:

    Scroll up.

There! Everything should be crystal clear now that you're properly equipped for the challenges that await you ahead!

    Godspeed!

  5. No that isn't even remotely the point.  Use the Vaykor if you are getting stuck on the weapon mentioned.  Vaykor is point and click, hitscan.  Rakta is click and hold, point, release while also not being hitscan.

If you miss a shot with your vaykor, it doesn't matter anywhere near as much as the 1 second charge on the rakta missing.  Even if the rakta was buffed up to the vaykor's level of DPS, the vaykor would still crush the rakta in terms of usability.

Then what's your point? You said you'd never use the Ballistica or any variation of it (after you told us your general how-to with it), whether it got buffed or revamped by any means suggested on the forums (which I'm guessing includes mine), then you started talking about the Sammacor. Now you're talking about the Varelok. You haven't even attempted to bring my suggested changes into your discussion and opine (that's a word) on them. You've just been having a conversation with yourself. So what's your point?

This thread is about the Ballistica, its current and potential variants, and making it a more usable, more useful weapon.

I can only guess from what you've said that you're in the wrong thread, dawg. I know it's confusing, there's a lot of (Rakta) Ballistica threads out there.

I don't use wreckta since it's the worst syndicate weapon.

It doesn't have to be the best, it just has to be good enough, as far as I'm concerned.

It'd be a nice stealth weapon if it was silent and capable of one-shotting heavy units like all other bow types can do.

Pretty much what I want, for it to be a baller stealth side arm that doesn't include wonky throwing mechanics.

  6. When I use the Rakta, I use the charged shots to kill enemies and use the uncharged when things get too close to me.  I feel like that is how the gun is meant to be used since they gave it horizontal recoil, terrible at far range and negligible at close range.

That being said, even if the rakta got buffed to the same dps as the synoid I still wouldn't use it.  None of the changes I see in the forums would make me consider using this piece of trash again (potato and 4 forma into it).  The ballistica is just much harder to use and has no upside whatsoever.  It uses bolts and has a charge time between shots whereas the synoid is hitscan and ticks damage every 1/4 to 1/5 of a second.

So you don't use it because...there's a horrifically OP gun (that will probably get nerfed) available instead? That's so easy to use, a cat sleeping on a keyboard could win a T4D with it?

Y'know, back in the day, Kunai were considered OP. They haven't been changed once. Let that sink in.

  7. 55 damage is too low for semi auto or 3.3ish rate of fire, considering attica has 125 with 3.3 ROF.  55 damage would be ok if it maintained the burst fire or had akbolto-level ROF, though.

That's why I suggested 2-shot burst/duplex = 110/mouse click, which is more than fine, especially with Secondary mods. Trying to make a good gun, not an OP-as-balls gun.

  8. Yeah, so it's been suggested that the biggest flaw of the (Rakta) Ballistica  is that...it just works wrong. It tries too hard to be a bow when it's a hand crossbow. And it also tries to be a handgun (?!) for some reason. The result? It's bad.

    Problems:

4-round burst: Eats through the otherwise average sized magazine very quickly.

Recoil: It's a crossbow. A xbow's only recoil is the 'thunk' of when the 'prod' (the bow-y part of a xbow) fully returns to rest after the trigger has been pulled/string has been released. The result is a slight vibration you feel move through the stock of the xbow.

Charge Mechanic: Xbows were made so you didn't need to "charge up" before shooting. They're just ready to go. Aim and pull the trigger, reload.

Sound: Again, the only sound a crossbow should make is the 'thunk' after releasing the string (which is pretty quiet). Ballistica currently has a Noise Level of ~45m. Compare the Lex (which should be pretty loud given its Deagle-ness), which also has a NL of ~45m.

Charge vs. Burst: There's little benefit of one over the other. The time it takes for the burst to finish, you could have charged, and vice versa. The recoil punishes the 4-round burst with lack of precision, missing the charged shot punishes your TTK. 4-round burst = 100 damage; 1 charged shot = 100 damage. Situation will usually dictate whether one's more useful than the other. Ammo efficiency is the only separation but not a big one, since pistol ammo drops everywhere and the Ballistica is not a machine pistol. Conserving the 4-burst mag (with a lengthy 2.3s reload, same as Lex) is the only reason to use charge over burst.

    Suggested Fixes:

Remove Noise(fixed, thanks DE), Recoil, 4-shot burst, and Charge mechanic: ...Yeah, just get rid of those.

Damage: Increase to 55 (5.5 Slash, 5.5 Impact, 44 Puncture) per bolt.

Trigger: Give the gun either a Duplex or 2-shot burst trigger. Since it has two prods (bow-y parts), it makes sense that it would shoot two bolts. I'd like a Duplex trigger since you can send off one bolt at a time, or just tap it to have a 2 shot-burst.

Increase Crit: To 25%. With maxed Pistol Gambit, would act like a tiny Attica.

Increase Crit Damage: To 2.0x. Again, tiny Attica.

Little Somethin' Special: I dunno, feel like it should have a small innate punch-through (0.6m). Nothing else is really coming to mind.

    Rakta:

Same as above, with that 20 rd vs 16 rd mag. Maybe 20% status chance, faster projectile speed. I'm really with the "Syndicate Weapon should have small advantages/sidegrades over vanillas" crowd. I mean, c'mon, it already explodes

Something cray-cray: Give the physical model three prods (bow-y parts), a 21-round mag, and a three shot burst. Remove new crit (so back to 15% and 1.5x), increase status chance to 25%, with small innate puncture (0.6m). Damage split between Puncture and Viral (27.5 + 27.5 = ShiftyFive). CC in the palm of your hand. And dat explosion.

That's it, I guess. With the other stats, I think the gun would function fine, I'd definitely use it. It's supposed to be a slick assassin hand crossbow, and nothing about its function is slick right now. Just want it to feel cool.

    P.S.

Please remove Noise and Recoil from Attica, also. I enjoy it a lot, otherwise.

    P.P.S.

Please buff the Sicarus Prime's magazine to 21.

    OHMYGODTHANKYOUDE

  9. I think it would be baller if the eye(s) was(were) on the front of the bow, looking at the enemy. I feel like the point of infested weaponry is that the weapons are also semi-intelligent and have a programmed instinct to kill.

Personally, I think the zombie arm is too overt, like it's trying too hard to be creepy.

I would go for a skinned/de-feathered bird wing look:

    Muscleandtendorplacementwings.jpg

Really, I wouldn't mind if it was just a bow-torid. The Torid, though obviously lethal, is kind of a pain the butt to use, with its small mag, long reload, and painful projectile speed. A bow version would be much more usable to me.

Can it fire tar moa's projectile?

This would be nice, though. Torid's biggest drawback right now is that it has no innate snaring to dish out its DoTs.

  10. Ha! I read the whooole thing! In 5 minutes! Take that OP!

I suppose my only question is, what would you like to see happen, other than all of the above? I agree with pretty much everything you said, I want all these things (you forgot Parkour 2.0), but what are you like...asking from DE?

I think what it comes down to is the visibility of ideas on the forums and sometimes what happens is that some decent/interesting ideas get drowned out by whining. For example, the Art and Animation section is usually dead. It's not really dead like Sound, but it moves pretty slow. Because of this, sometimes our stuff actually gets looked at and replied to by DEDraice! I don't know what Draice does, but I'm pretty sure it's something Art-y related, and stuff commented on, by him, usually ends up getting implemented faster. Now that there all these whine posts, either about Targis armor, Pyra Syadana, or that time when DE fixed their colors and no one knew where else to whine about it, I don't see Draice replying to anything anymore, probably because he looks at it and says "2muchwhine4me". I think it must be discouraging. It discourages me. Why post any cool ideas I might have when I have to fight tooth and nail just to have to stay on the front page?

Of course, some threads stick around and don't get a response (Like buff X that needs buffing, continuous weapon refixFIXFIXITDE, FIX MY LASERS) and that's a bit frustrating. A response for those real "hot topics" would be nice (did get a "we talked about it" response for our laser, but no sign of change yet).

I suppose it's come down to that Warframe has gotten huge. Probably bigger than DE thought it would. It makes sense: it bridges gaps between a lot of genres and so it has potential appeal for a lot of gamers. That means that there are lots of people on the forums. Some have good ideas, some don't. And I don't think it's possible for DE to effectively keep track of it all. Plus, I think they have their own list they're trying to get through right now, with all these neat hotfixes.

So...I dunno. Maybe we need a better way for transmitting our ideas to DE. Forums have been feeling kind of hostile lately, too.

  11. Kind of agree. Made 2 alt accounts for clan proxies. Made them during AllTheBestThingsFree Week, so each has some sweet stuff...behind a resource grind wall. Getting decent weapons for them has been difficult. One of them still doesn't have Hornet Strike.

Also, as a vet I've found ways to cope with the various affinity nerfs, but with the new accounts, I'm really feeling this new grind that I didn't experience when I first started.

So yeah, the NPE is stil a pain that just doesn't feel too inviting. Just having some basic weapons (tetra, grakata, some beginner sniper) available for creds would alleviate that a bit.

  12. Scindo Prime is OP? News to me...

Here's my current Scindo Prime build:

    --Cleaving Whirlwind

    -Pressure Point

    -Fury

    -Killing Blow

    -Corrupt Charge

    -Focus Energy

    -True Steel

    -Berserker

    - 1 90% Elemental

Even with this setup, getting those baller 20k damage hits on the baddies after the stacking speed boost from Berserker is a pain in the butt. And steering Broken Bull is like steering a...well...a steer. You can't really ride bulls. Not because they get &!$$ed but because they're too dumb to train for riding. Plays on words aside, the only reliable way to get sweet crowd kills with BB is to go RD Loki on Void Interception, hold B, and let them run right into your Scindo. It's satisfying, but when you can only do it for one tile, for one mission type, I call that overspecialized.

    Disadvantages:

-It's short for a heavy weapon

-Still slow as a preggers cow

-It's allllll damage; No utility whatsoever

    -It's "quickdraw" is anything but

You missed those. Fixed it for you.

You DEEPs people are, frankly, bad at this game. All you see is numbers and not the usability of the weapon, which is just as important. The Sammacor isn't just OP for it's ridiculous damage; it's OP because it has no recoil, has an endless mag, is easy as taking a wiz to use, has no mastery requirements, and no crafting requirements.

Contrast the Scindo, which is hard as balls to use/acquire if your favorite video game quote is "Gotta go fast!"

  13. 2015-02-11_00001.jpg

    (Good)

It looks great, I love how it hangs from the pommel of weapon from these little beads, instead of having some big, ugly thing/object sticking out the bottom and hanging off of that (whatever it is).

    2015-02-11_00002.jpg

    (Bad)

And I love the Pyra, save for that thing sticking out of the bottom. I would say, just shove (embed) it all the way inside the model, so it doesn't look like it was glued on. Same goes for the Daman Sugatra.

The only problem with the Uru Sugatra right now is that all of its little beads are colliding with each other, so they spazz out all the time, which is unfortunate. A fix for it Soon™, I hope.

But these Sugatra's are looking better. Keep it up, DE!

  14. I can't believe people are just saying "Nope".

Obviously, none of you guys have played CS (any form of it), and how much effort the player base expends to make the game more immersive and just plain cool. That's all the OP wants.

    So much party-pooping in here.

Guys, we have varying graphics settings. They can just make it so shell casings aren't rendered when you have particles set to low or something.

And it's not like there isn't precedent for this. Look at Soma/Prime magazines after you eject them.

    ^This.

Lotus forbid bullets casings break your game, I'm sure DE will put in an option to turn them off. Doubt it's going to happen, though.
