Arbitration Excavations take x4 as long?

Alright, so I was wondering why this is the case, but the timer on excavators is twice as long as normal, and you only get a rotation reward on every two.  Why is the excavation rewards quadrupled in time compared to all of the other game modes which only doubles the time between rewards?

From the wiki: Excavation: Defense time is increased from 100 seconds to 180 seconds.

That's still nearly twice as long.

10 waves ~10 to 13 minutes

10 minutes (obvious)

2 excavator ~6 minutes defense time + traveltime

2 rounds interception ~10 minutes

 

Still pretty fast compared to the rest

That's if you're lucky it can take up to 20 minutes for 10 waves.
