ForumSmurf
BUMPING - it is not condoned, but all cases of bumping issues will be handled case by case determined by the nature of the thread. wait so if you bump a thread you're gonna be annihilated by the forum po po? Though its pretty obnoxious to run into a thread with 5 bumps that simply state bump in a row, but i didn't know it was such a problem that it had to be on of the big bullet points. I've never myself even ran into a thread that had more than one or 2 bumps occasionally. Edited October 4, 2013 by ForumSmurf

rohver
What about the numerous clan recruitment threads that need bumping? Are they exceptions? Coz they really need to be bumped every once a while
ForumSmurf
Would you rather it have said "we reserve the right to delete posts that say "bump"? There are clever ways to bump a thread. I just did it. But back on topic what i mean is was this a prolific issue to actually need to be exclaimed in one of the 10 forum commandments we have now? it just felt out of place. basically i read dont be a jerk treat peeps with respect dont bash de emplyees don't post porno don't be mean dont post rage threads dont bump threads it was totally out of place since all the others were serious stuff Edited October 4, 2013 by ForumSmurf

XDeathCoreX
The fool likes to pick and choose who to punish. The fool won't punish everyone, just those he see's fit or at random or people like to abuse the report function. the fool should either punish everyone or no one at all. Kadishia
Look at here. Certain clan threads would need bumping to acknowledge the people that they are still recruiting. Bumping the same thread 20 times a day would consider spam. (Guess) Bumping it few times a day like 2 - 3 times a day would be within the boundaries. It a nature of clans. It might have special leverage a bit compare to discussions and introduction. Two types of bumpers (Clan relating): Attention spammer (Bump bump bump or off-topic ideas) Thoughtful ones. (We are still recruiting, Looking for new players, etc.) It will be monitor by the admins/devs and it their decision on whether is spam bump or not. You said absolutely nothing just now. You just slapped some words together and repeated "the fool" over and over to sound cool, didn't you? And then you put the whole post in italics. CrunkTanium
What about the numerous clan recruitment threads that need bumping? Are they exceptions? Coz they really need to be bumped every once a while Add something worth adding instead of "BUMP" and it's unlikely anyone will care. If every single clan did a daily bump however where would your bump end up? There is only so much room on the main pages and everyone wants to be first which can be problematic. TheResult
If you did a bit of thinking, you'd figure out who that is. "The fool won't punish everyone, just those he see's fit .." Who else would you punish besides the people you see fit to punish? Who would the non-fool punish? People he doesn't see fit to punish? That'd be silly. VScipii26
BUMPING - it is not condoned, but all cases of bumping issues will be handled case by case determined by the nature of the thread. If it's blatant necro posting on a worthless post, you're probably gonna get wrecked by Blatantfool. If it's a two or three day old post that's still relevant and being frequently updated, it'll probably be ok. MueR
Bumping a topic is annoying. Adding useful information is not bumping, even if the message itself is only "Updated OP with new info". As for clans who kick their topic to the top of the list daily by stating "we're still recruiting", that is pointless bumping and should be dealt with. On a forum where I moderate (tweakers.net, dutch ICT community, half a million users), we have a rather strict bumping rule. If you kick your topic within 24 hours (or even double post), we're going to have a chat. If you have something new to add to your topic so quickly, update your last post or topic start. We simply don't want people kicking their topic back up after an hour because they haven't had a response yet. DoomFruit
But... but... but without bumping, how are people going to remember Derf?
Inquisitioner
Its pretty self explanatory. Simply writing bump isn't the ideal way to go. But writing something related and going around it will still result in a bump.
General_Krull
But... but... but without bumping, how are people going to remember Derf? Isn't that different, because different people are expressing their love for Derf or new ideas for him? Admit it. You said absolutely nothing just now. You just slapped some words together and repeated "the fool" over and over to sound cool, didn't you? And then you put the whole post in italics. That wasn't Italian! The whole post was nothing but lies.
Glisp
There are two kinds of bumps. The First one is a useless bump that adds nothing important to the topic The second one is something that does obviously add to it. That's probably what they meant by "case by case"
[DE]Megan
Spamming a thread in a non constructive way will not only clutter the thread, but makes it extremely difficult to read. The forums are a place for feedback and discussion, not bumping.
