Is -Finisher Damage the best Negative for Melee Rivens?

It seems far and away the best of the options, Finishers seem largely useless now.  What are your preferences?

Depends on your style overall. I have specialized builds with around +1,084% finisher damage that can one-hit any enemy on-sight, up to L175. Might be higher, but that's all I could get out of simulacrum.

I've heard the best negative on rivens is -corpus since it's a pretty weak faction anyway.

It depends on if you have a finisher build or not. I have a multipurpose Heat Dagger that my Baruuk uses. Yes, it works. Especially when lich hunting, as I can lull entire rooms to sleep, slash the lich, backstab a minion, get the lich and all that without the lich attacking as they are asleep or slowed for all of it. 

However, if you know what you're doing, go for +finisher on rapiers and hammers. 

 

Honestly, negatives depend a lot on the weapon. And how you plan on using it. For instance, my favorite rapier is built for finishers and heavy attacks, so I have negative combo duration.

Finisher damage is super-powerful, but is mostly overkill and/or inefficient looking at the game as a whole.  That being said, -puncture or -impact are negatives that are very often net positives.  Less so now than it was before the status rework, but still true.
