Supe84 Posted June 24, 2023 Share Posted June 24, 2023 I cannot get the giveaway code in the steelseries GG app on pc. whenever I click on the "get key" button, it says "an error occured. please try again later." For me the claim button wasn't available until I figured out how to verify my account. I attempted making a new account and verifying it, but it didn't make any difference. - Logging out and logging in has helped for some people. But not for me. - Reinstalling ❌ - Rebooting ❌ - Running as admin ❌ - Changing to beta (doesn't seem to be a beta version out) ❌ - Running in compatibility mode ❌ - Using a VPN to set region to US ❌ (someone tested)There are some things I've not tested, such as a US VPN to prevent the app from using your regional SteelSeries servers. Reginal servers seems to hold different data from the US or Official servers. I just determined this as I can't see my Support tickets on my regional SteelSeries website, but when I manage to login to the none-regional website I can see them. If you are outside of the US or Canada, there's a chance that is the cause of problems, but I can't confirm this so if anyone is capable of testing, perhaps even if it won't be enough to catch the event keys this time, it may help preventing future issues due to the same problem. Also, as I found it troublesome to find where to logout. For those facing the same issue, to logout you go to Settings and scroll down to the bottom of the left sidebar titled "SETTINGS". Even got a fatal error and crash to desktop after leaving it open for too long xD This has happened before with GG when it first came out so to see it still an issue is pretty sad. Opened a ticket with SteelSeries but had to log it under a product since its an endless loop thru the ticket portal when asking about the giveaways.
