Hystrix modes don't count as elemental kills for Nightwave

Title. Was leveling my Hystrix Prime and I noticed that today's Nightwave mission of 150 Heat kills wasn't progressing.

Apparently, kills with the Fire Quill mode don't count as Heat kills, even if the heat damage icon appears.

Did you have heat damage on your Hystrix?  Without a heat source, the forced heat procs are very low damage.  If you're doing a lot of non-heat damage there will be proportionately fewer heat damage kills.  And the weaker the enemies, the easier it  is to kill them before heat procs have a chance to do so.

150 Heat damage kills not 150 Heat Procs. Most of the time unless you add heat mod, the enemy were kill by physical damage or whatever element you add to the gun.

I'm using corrosive puncture Latron incarnon and the heat kills only count when I'm using the incarnon mode.

That's not damage, that's for the proc (status effect).

Hystrix forces procs, but if you don't use actual Heat Mods and then kill stuff with the shot itself, that won't count.

If you add elemental damage (Mods) to a weapon, it will always deal that elemental damage, any procs are a bonus on top.
