Are you suppose to do light attack with Exodia Contagion?

Question

Hi! I recently built a zaw 

 

dokrahm + Peye + Vargeet 2 Jai 

 

put  5 forma on it  and finished formaing my wisp prime. I hit just over 300% power strength. I keep seeing people say they hit millions of damage just doing the regular jump jump air melee to launch the projectile but I’m a little confused. I only hit like at most 500k dmg and that’s after stripping enemy armor with eclipse on. 
 

i noticed the builds all recommend blood rush so I used blood rush but I’m not seeing how the combo counter is suppose to build up? My projectile launch in air doesn’t add to the combo counter at all.

Ok I changed to Corrupted Bombard so my Corrosive doesnt interfere annd numbers are more consisten 3,2k-4k LA, 8k-53K HA (but the ranges are still off the charts).
  • Dehtat-Korb-Varget II Ruhang 1800-1900 LA, similar ranges for HA

 

I do not think it is about the parts, but about the fully fledged build. Unless it is complete coincidence that the weapons I have most invested in, do best.

 

Thank you for collecting these data. For the sake of your test, note that you could have opted for magnetic without critical mods to better isolate the heavy attack multiplier while removing other factors. The comparison should be between attacks of the same critical tier.

When you saw numbers that were much higher than average, I bet they were headshots (x6 damage if critical, look at your Mewan). I see that six of your zaws are affected by the nerf; Kronsh is not among them.

You may be onto something. But I had this interaction before with HA in general. Slower weapons/stances did more HA (and Contagion) damage than faster weapons (slapping attack speed mods reduced the damage expodentially)

I can test other weapons with other stances.

If you manage to solve the mystery, I would love to know about it.

Sometimes Nataruk breaks them, unfortunately. It also suffers from this bug: perfect shots are downgraded to charged shots having lower damage and critical multiplier. Later I moved to Kuva Hek but now I know for sure that the primary fire of Boar Prime incarnon is the best. Viral slash configuration with Jet Stream.

Stance change either has no effect or lowers both LA and HA at the same rate (so it lowers Conagion projectile damage). With the ones I tested.

It's rather peculiar that Rending Crane is slightly stronger than the other two options for my Dokrahm, in terms of Exodia Contagion. I might consider installing my first stance forma ever just because of this.

Update: I updated my build a little bit and used a higher blind rage and one Tau forged along with the arcane that gives ability strength on operator ability. This let me hit 575% eclipse.

 I use the exact build given above albeit with the Dokrahm with a + dmg + heavy efficiency Riven.

 

The build works! I hit 599 million on arbitrations today and about 1-2 million in steel path NO armor strip. 
 

I find just doing the regular jump jump on arbitrations or non armor enemies a lot easier to use but on grineer the jump jump slide heavy attack is better ofc.

I’m gonna probably use this only with wisp bc glaive is easier to use. Or my main which is orthos prime.

I'm glad you're satisfied! Although Dokrahm cannot perform slide heavy attacks with Contagion, it's still my favourite zaw because it shoots projectiles with less delay compared to others.

Do not copy the parts, I made them for mastery fodder long ago, when I did not even have Contagion and I had vague idea what I am doing.

All the slide attacks are gone with contagion. Polearms included. Last week when you said dokrahm couldn’t preform them you were wrong bc I could only get red Crits and the high numbers by doing the slide heavy attack. 
 

NOW all the zaws can not do them. I build 3 other zaws over the weekend and it’s over :(

Why do we get a nerf of something every time something new comes out? Is this some sort of DE philosophy? We HAVE TO kill the enemies! Why make it 20 hits when it was possible with 1 hit? It STILL has to die! What does that do to enhance the game, making it grindier to kill enemies? And you have to be advanced, spend time to get to the place where you can do these million red crit one shots - its not like a new player comes in and BLAM, over-killing everything! It could take a year or so for a new player to get to the point where they are seeking / needing red crits and millions of damage!  This is hurting mid-level to high level players! Let us play with our toys, DE and stop breaking them!

Mate, it didn't work for me lol. I based my statement on my observations. My Dokrahm used to be able to perform slide heavy attacks but without the heavy attack multiplier, that's it.

Anyway, may you rest in peace, Exodia Contagion.
