Am I The Only One That Thinks 'drakgoon' Is An Awful Name?

Saying it in a Grineer accent actually helps a lot, thanks.

On a serious note, though, it still sounds choppy for the players themselves (lore and such aside). No other Grineer weapon's name has such difficulty flowing off the tongue.

Again, you have to separate the two words:

Drak'goon.

Much easier to say, and it sounds undeniably Grineer.

I know. Saying it in the deep "Tenno skoom" voice makes it infinitely easier.

Still, though, hard to pronounce smoothly without Grineer accent. xD

I don't like the name either. The name doesn't feel like a Tenno weaponry for me.

That's because it's Grineer.

On topic.

I quite agree, I was fine with (what I thought at first was) Dragoon, odd choice but whatever.

The K just doesn't make it flow well, regardless of the pormanteau.

Well technically it's a Grineer gun, and these are the guys who named a gun the Grakata

I don't know, it sounds ridiculous yet somehow fitting for the Grineer.

EDIT: Apparently this point's been made already, whoops.

Coulda sworn it was Corpus... I might be thinking of Penta though.

In concept it was for the Corpus (DC) but I assume it just got changed to grineer, probably made more sense for them.

Besides the overall design looks more like grineer. Oh yeah and the grineer symbol by the handle.

I think it would have been better to just call it the Dragoon. Drakgoon is basically unpronounceable without turning it into two words; the 'kg' really can't be pronounced without a pause too long for the middle of a word.

You guys are totally missing the point.

It is not supposed to be elegant, it is not supposed to flow off the tongue.

Have you heard the Grineer speak?

GET GLEM!

Seriously though, other weapons and frames are a bit more... "comfortable" to pronounce. I just call it Dragoon since that sounds better.

(Any Dutch people out there? The Dutch pronunciation is even worse that the english)

Gorgon flows. Viper flows. Machete flows. Seer flows. Grineer flows. Vulkar flows. Sobek flows. Hek flows. So why does this one weapon not flow?

Because those are old Grineer weapons.

With the more recent weapons (Stug, Karak, Drakgoon) it is obvious that DE are trying to make the names more lore-friendly.
