egregiousRac
As the Tetra stands now it is essentially just a worse Supra. The four-clip system is quite cool and is the only thing that sets the Tetra apart from other weapons. Sadly, it has no mechanical purpose. I propose that the Tetra be remodeled a bit and turned into a burst weapon in order to solve this issue. The change would be giving it four barrels to go with the four clips. Something like this: http://puu.sh/6wLvp.jpg Subsequently, the Tetra would fire four shots simultaneously in a square pattern. Increasing the base firing speed to 8 would cause it to fire twice per second, giving the ability to have strong, meaty shots and placing the Tetra on its own as a unique weapon. ValhaHazred
I might be the minority, but I really like Tetra as it is. It's got pretty good puncture damage, which isn't that common in rifles. It's relatively slow rate of fire is good for minimizing overkill. It's also a rank 0 gun. I don't think it's supposed to be awesome and unique, it's baby Tenno's first Pew Pew gun. Too many people judge every new weapon by a veteran's experience and that isn't at all the best way of going about it. It's a basic gun for beginners like the Grakata or Strun. egregiousRac
I find that the regular Burston and Sicarus are terrible because there is too much time between bullets within the burst for both. A burst weapon should be trading sustained fire rate for sudden damage. I have not tried the Burston Prime, but I am loving the Sicarus Prime because the bullets are close together. Angius
I'd say give Tetra innate multishot - let it shoot four bullets at once, and increase the magazine size to 120. OR Make the projectiles bounce once.

HillsAndTheSea
Too many people judge every new weapon by a veteran's experience and that isn't at all the best way of going about it. couldnt agree more, too many people think if a gun doesnt have 15k+ dps than it "needs buffs to be relevant" when not every player likes the feel, or even has access to every gun, and some guns are meant as an alternative, or even an introduction to a particular weapon class, before weapons get to specialized the tetra is the first availble energy weapon for players, and its a pretty decent one at that. there are many, many, other guns that can use a balance tweak before the tetra should even be considered, its actually in a really good place now, almost too good i would say
Killerdude8
Tetra is essentially a Corpus mid game rifle, similar to the Karak and the Boltor, imo, It's Perfect the way it is.
[DE]Momaw
As the Tetra stands now it is essentially just a worse Supra. BOLTOR 24 damage/round 8.8 rounds/second = 211.2 DPS Fire time:reload time= 2.6:1 TETRA 30 damage/round 6.7 rounds/second = 201 DPS Fire time:reload time= 60 rounds / 6.7 / 2.0 4.5:1 Tetra is Boltor with slightly lower burst DPS and better ammo efficiency. Archistopheles
You neglected to mention projectile travel time. Because that can easily be corrected by user skill. Lead your shots. If you get used to the weapon, it becomes second nature.
[DE]Momaw
You neglected to mention projectile travel time. I didn't mention it because reasons. I think Boltor's bolts might be somewhat faster, but both weapons have non-instant projectiles that require leading and both weapons are also what I would call "fast" projectiles so the effect on gameplay and performance is the same. If I were comparing an instant versus non-instant weapon, I would have mentioned the need to lead targets as a drawback.
egregiousRac
I like the comparison to the Boltor even better for showing that the Tetra in its current state is unnecessary. At least it is different from the Supra, even if all of the differences make it worse. The differences between it and the Boltor are insignificant, making the Tetra little more than a reskin. netherwarrior333
Incorrect. As it stands now, Tetra is essentially just a better Boltor. ahh dude my tetra does about 300 damage per shot i think the tetra is better than the flux rifle and not supra [but if u put serration like me it would be another thing] the tetra is awsome very high damage but 1 disadvantage very slow fire rate [remembers me of gary [not garry's mod] the snail]

Inez
Incorect Boltor is better than Tetra Not sure what it is about the Warframe forums that attracts people who can't handle simple math. The Terta is the superior weapon, dealing more sustained dps, having better ammo economy and being dirt cheap to make. It also makes cool "pew, pew" sounds. So, essentially, DE gets a pass on burying us with ultimately irrelevant weapons because they still need to patch the ultimately irrelevant weapons they already gave us? Wha? The Tetra is a cheap early game rifle that outperforms any rifle near its cost. People always tell beginners to grab Braton asap. The next logical upgrade would be the Tetra, as it requires no rare resources.

Makya
How do you have Gas and Corrosive? How is your Boltor's raw damage: 21,31 / 170,54 / 21,31, when it starts off as a 2/20/2? While studying to disprove you, I noticed something. Would you mind clearing your mods and punching in just the raw stats with no mods? Notice how the program actually changes the numbers? 6/24/0 chances to 7.2/28.8/0 and 2/20/2 changes to 2.4/24/2.4. *began to notice issues when comparing dpsframe to it and getting utterly different numbers.* Is there an update to this calc floating around? LukeAura
YOu cant handle math either Tetra has 30 x 6.7=201 total DPS Boltor has 25 x 8.8=220 DPS Simple math maybe you cant handle them sustained dps is dps adjusted for reloading mid battle. Boltor sdps = 25*60/(60/8.8+2.6)~=159 Tetra sdps = 30*60/(60/6.67+2) ~= 164 Sustained dps favours Tetra. Ammo Efficiency favours Tetra. raw dps favours Boltor.
