Isn't Shocking Touch Kind Of Useless?

I will be happy if they made North Wind a 9 point mod.

In line with the pistols and rifles :3

As for why shocking touch is low damage, that is because it is DE.

But yes, people can stack them for insane damage.

Shocking Touch has its uses.  You can mod corrosive or radiation on the Galatine without sacrificing charge speed.  Same goes for Glaive and Kestrel, where how fast you throw them matters.

Wut?

How could this 250px-ShockingTouchU11.png be better than this 250px-FocusEnergyU11.png when it comes to a charge build?

You're getting the descriptions wrong mate, the mod http://warframe.wikia.com/wiki/Focus_Energy'>Focus Energy decreases the time you spent charging the weapon (increases charge speed).

There's much better alternatives to Shocking Touch mod, it's 100% useless because there is absolutely no reason to use it over other Melee mods for damage. Electricity damage you say? No. Melee has much more mods that affect the base charge or swing damage or mods that don't suck in terms of drain:damage ratio like Voltaic Strike.

The differences in mod strength are vestigial due to elements working differently prior to Damage 2.0. Why they keep it as is, no idea, illusion of choice and all that.

Everyone who posted anything related to guns are idiots. Please leave the thread. To those who are arguing for elemental bonuses against certain factions, please go learn how to mod a melee weapon. Not while Corrupt Charge and Rending Strike exist.

Shocking Touch, and North Wind need to be 90%. They were 60% to balance the old Damage 1.0 system, because both of those mods were heavy stun locks.

Now, with Damage 2.0, they need to be brought up with Fever Strike and Molten Impact.

For people who don't stack elemental mods, and use the extra spaces for other mods, like Reach and Second wind for example.
