Exactly... I rather have the gun jammed like Ogris than to waste precious sniper ammo doing low, uncharged damage moments from full charge.

 

It's the same thing as bows, and it's not a problem learning to use the gun can't fix.

 

Problem is, it works exactly like a bow, without the opportunity for amazing crit builds. 5m innate punch through is sweet, and if you want to do ridiculous levels of corrosive, radiation, or magnetic damage, this is the gun for you.

 

I have six formas in my Lanka. Use it all the time for high-level missions (T3 endless surv/def), but stick with latron prime for basically anything else. Slow fire rate makes it a specialist weapon; great at what it tries to do, but don't try to make it do anything other than that.

Of course I wont say its a bad weapon though.. I miss one-shotting Phorid back in damage 1.0.

yes, clearly i should l2p better when letting go of the trigger 5ms too early results in wasted Ammunition. 

if people wanted to 'spam/spray' with a Weapon like Lanka, we could have another Weapon designed just for that, rather than fiddling with one that already worked without much issue.

eh, i'd hope not. it sounds like a great idea for say, Bows to deal relatively high Damage per shot, reliably, while Sniper Rifles gamble on average Damage or very, very high Damage. 

if all of these Weapons had similar stats, they'd all be the same Weapons. they wouldn't be unique. a bunch of Weapons that are all the same results in the one that's ultimately the 'best' being used, and the rest being cast aside as trash. that's a waste of Development time.

sniper rifles need a buff

but some kind of buff, they should have the highest single shot damage of any weapon in the game 

This feeling oh my glob.

I feel snipers should have pin-point precision accuracy with /low/ fire-times (be they charge deemed or otherwise) with high base damages, low crit chances, and low (1.5) crit modifiers. Or have some kind of High 'physics' damage that gets applied that ignores Crit chance or something (similar to the Warframe's air-kick) and resistances.  I mean, you're slinging some heavy rounds down range at a high speed, it should at least cause either some kind of knock-down or kick-back effect in the victim, regardless if the 'slug' is actually a plasma bolt, dart, or blade.  

The thing with Snipers in this game is the lack of usability within the current tilesets.

Honestly, snipers play the support role, sitting back, tracking a target, and /deleting/ that target from existence.  Loki actually is a wonderful sniper and a wonderful melee - he's the Borderlands 2 Assassin of warframe, minus the tree shenanigans.  Decoy into somewhere, Switch teleport with it, hide in your newly found hidey-hole and shoot at the morons shooting at your decoy.  Optionally, Cloak, Stab, Repeat.  Loki's paper-thin armor makes him meh at best when dealing direct damage with SMG's or LMG's.  Shotguns are almost as efficient as Melee due to the "I can get up close and personal".  

Rhino just... charges headfirst in.  Trinity... she can do whatever, she's trinity. Saryn runs in. Vauben's got his kick-&#! 'nades, who needs guns.  There really aren't many 'frames that really /really/ like snipers.  Yeah, you may want a sniper on one mission, but due to the tile-sets currently, there are very few optimal vantage points to /use/ the poor things, unless you use them as a close-range instagib, which I already use the Torid for, or Shotguns.  

I dunno, I feel like right now, as Snipers in general stand, they're high-reward but weird-risk category -- they may have the lowest risk, or equivalent risk of a shotgun.  Something should make them feel like you need to stay out of the fray a bit more and reward nailing headshots a bit more... maybe a weapon class specific x3 ~ x4 damage on 'crit joints' (Corpus Knees, Grenier Heads... Ancient's Arms (for some reason...), the like).  Add the miter into the sniper-rifle class for that as well.  Saw off a corpus at the knees... or blow his leg clean off with a well placed Lanka shot owo

i liked the charge better before there was the option to fire Uncharged shots. if i screw up my timing, i waste Ammo. >.>

I'd love to see possibility to make uncharged shots. But there is no such an option, sadly. Still, i like the Lanka a lot.
