Help ! I Can't Kill Prospectors

Hi there, I just have a HUGE problem

When I try to kill a prospector with a distinct element, I can't touch him

I mean that if there is a toxic prospector, with my boltor prime and my toxic's mod, I can't deal any damages on him, such as my fire, frost and electric's mod.

Do you think that there is a problem with the boltor prime against them ?

maybe they are blocking your shots?

Just melee them to death

do you have only the toxic damage? if you have the element combined with something else it is not the right element.

They could be probably only vulnerable to the toxic status effect(?).

Have you tried coyotes or rattlesnakes? They're plenty dangerous in these parts...

When in doubt, switch to melee. No matter if you have correct element or not, you'll do significant damage. I've actually found it to work faster than using guns because they seem to like to spam block when I use them.

Something I've found is that [if you're one of the lucky ones that got tranquil cleave] breathless lunge pretty much goes right through their blocking. Another thing, the Ignis. Use it. They don't have reflect and it also goes right through their blocking. Unless there's a trinity using link. Then god help you.

prosecutors are highly resistant to gunfire (my marelok eventually takes them down. but eventually it takes everything down). switch to melee, even if you don't have the correct element, they take a lot more damage from melee. their inclusion, outside of dropping beacons, is a melee enemy that you must fight primarily with melee weapons. it's no coincidence that they were released with U13 and melee 2.0

They are vulnerable to SLASH  damage (besides their element) - spread the word please! 

Boltor P only does puncture/impact and wont damage them, same for elemental damage guns, like Synapse or Stug etc etc, unless you put un-combined respective element mod on them.
