Warframe Gender Skins?

If i remember correctly DE said that they dont particularly like the idea of gender switching. But i remember them being split about the idea.

DE doesn't like the idea of genders that are just plain copies, "skins." And I agree, because that's cheap and boring. And if I recall correctly, they even said it was a lazy way to go about it in a couple livestreams...

 

What they have expressed interest in, however, is opposite genders with similar themes.

I think the frames work better as characters more than classes, if you get what I mean.

Nope, DE was gonna do dat with Fem Excal but wound up making Nyx.

 

However, Imagine a male Ember with a different skillset entirely. 

 

DE has confirmed they'd think about this.

 Based on the stuff they've said on this topic in the past it is much more likely that we'll see DE release new frames for each theme that have the opposite gender.

 

 For example, Ember being the Female Fire frame would get a 'brother' who'd have his own name, his own look and four unique skills. But overall they'd share the same theme.

Would they be skins or would DE have to make new models which means they might have to update animations and whatever else goes along with a new Warframe model. If it was just a skin I don't think it would work. The male and female Warframes have polygons in different places ya know.

It's a good idea on paper, but as people have already said DE is not interested in doing it. Who knows, though, if Nyx is any indication we may see Male Ember and Female Ash as new frames entirely someday.

 Come to think of it, I think it's best to give this thread a close. These tend to go to a very silly place after a bit.
