Psycomet
Lately I've been finding it hard to keep my kubrow alive. Even with max health/shield/armor the AI is just to buggy. Sentinels don't have this problem because they are so small and stick to the player like glue. So even if it doesn't make sense, for the sake of gameplay: Arc traps are made for tenno. Electric proc doesn't freeze them in place. But have a kubrow run through a corridor of even 1 arc trap and it's dead in the water. Tenno can dodge lasers. Kubrows can't. They just run through them. Hell, if they're so "orokin" why not just make them invincible to them. Just try to run through this room without killing your kubrow... So until a solution can be found please make them so. I get it. They're supposed to die, otherwise what's all the petting for. But I DO NOT want to have my kubrow die while levelling it up because of a laser mishap. Or make them have a bleedout period. JeyciKon
true, it already killed my kubrow several time thanks to that..
Nopy117
This was something I was just about to make a post on, probably the single biggest issue with the kubrow AI at the moment, hope DE can think of a fix soon.
Vargras
Just try to run through this room without killing your kubrow... You know you can shoot the emitters and the lasers stop, right?
Kartumterek
You know you can shoot the emitters and the lasers stop, right? Dont inject your skilled play into the discussion Sir... demanding immunity to Arc Traps versus just shooting them is easier and faster
Psycomet
You know you can shoot the emitters and the lasers stop, right? If I may be so bold to ask: what does that add to this discussion? I intentionally posted a pic from this room because shooting 1-2 lasers is viable but standing in that room and clearing lasers for my kubrow while the others have reached the other side of the map is just a bit absurd. Well if the lasers had drop tables then may be :D
Vargras
Dont inject your skilled play into the discussion Sir... demanding immunity to Arc Traps versus just shooting them is easier and faster 99% of these "my kubrow died to traps" topics are because the OP was too lazy or lacked the common sense to just... shoot the trap and take care of it themselves. It's like people who take their kubrows to Infested and then complain that Toxics killed them. What did you think was going to happen? If I may be so bold to ask: what does that add to this discussion? I intentionally posted a pic from this room because shooting 1-2 lasers is viable but standing in that room and clearing lasers for my kubrow while the others have reached the other side of the map is just a bit absurd. Clearing that entire room is only going to take you a couple of seconds. Not only that, but based upon mission objectives, you don't even have to clear all of them, just the ones in your way. Aramanth
Not make them invincible, but make them great at detecting them. Scenario: You and Kubrow get close to an arc trap. Kubrow begins to growl, stops in its tracks, and looks in the general direction of the trap until you either destroy it or run past it. Scenario 2: You and Kubrow go near laser traps. Kubrow begins to growl, and as you approach it attacks the laser emitter, destroying it instantly. Scenario 3: You and Kubrow get near a hazardous floor. Kubrow wimpers and avoids it like the plague until his master runs over it. In all scenarios: These are all sensed through walls. That whole "shoot the trap" thing is fine and dandy until you have two of them on either side of the door you're about to pass through as you run out of oxygen in survival, so there's no way to avoid them because they're on the other side of the wall. Kubrow senses them, you and your punch-through angstrum decide to fix the problem. Edited July 21, 2014 by Aramanth
(PSN)Pengu_Imperialus
Dont inject your skilled play into the discussion Sir... demanding immunity to Arc Traps versus just shooting them is easier and faster isn't the universal response to arc trap/laser complaints, "did you try shooting it?"? Hisophonic
I just wish my Kubrow didn't get roasted by Sargus Ruk but then again it was my fault for taking it there.
sirwarriant12
Lasers seem more avoidable but the arc traps and stuff I agree with they are practically unavoidable half the time since they are in such out of the way places.
Taikaponi
Too much lazy people in this game. Just shoot the goddamn lasers, you have guns.
RespectTheInternet
I can see giving Kubrows some limited resistance to damage from traps / stuns. If I have to kill every little thing in the room to keep him alive, you're essentially running an escort mission for your Kubrow. Why in the world would I want to baby sit a moronic dog that's too dumb to live when I could just use a sentinel

Cradicias
Truthfully, it does need work, cause the game is a lot about speed and maneuverability and the Kubrows are just a big anchor at the moment.

bigfoot1812
isn't the universal response to arc trap/laser complaints, "did you try shooting it?"? the problem comes in when you only have a sword. Too much lazy people in this game. Just shoot the goddamn lasers, you have guns. again if you only have a sword you are boned when it comes to arc traps. my kubrow died 2 times from arctraps you can not destroy with a sword attack or have then in the wall so i could not shoot it. Why in the world would I want to baby sit a moronic dog that's too dumb to live when I could just use a sentinel Thank you. That was my point. Such a big AI fix may be a long time in coming but I don't want the experience to be like this until then. What I'd want is that the kubrow will die if I fail to help it WHEN it needs me. The only viable way to do that is bleedout. It's not very enjoyable when it dies on its own despite your efforts to keep it alive. This is especially annoying in long missions when you expected a fun ride with your kubrow but it dies prematurely.
sp33chle55
You have my respectI think its mostly because im more into soloing missions and im just sick of coptering through those levels, so i kinda enjoyed those electrocuting surprises. But i unterstand people who hate them with every piece of their bodies.Back 2 topic. Just shoot those traps till kubrow ai is more polished. TanTheMan
Dont inject your skilled play into the discussion Sir... demanding immunity to Arc Traps versus just shooting them is easier and faster This has NOTHING to do with lack or skill or being too difficult. Why would I bother bringing a kubrow in a mission if every single time I run into a trap the gameplay has to come to a screeching halt because the kubrow AI is so god damn stupid it will just die? Protecting your kubrow from this kind of S#&$ adds NOTHING positive to the gameplay and only forces people back to sentinals.
