The Soma Prime is pretty bursty.

In fact people feel that is has no spin up or spin up for only 5 rounds.

 

High ROF and deep ammo bin means it is probably the best anti-nullifier weapon at high levels now :l

it might have, i think that is really the only downside to somaprime is that there isnt enough slots. Maybe one day we will a single mod card for viral damage? then i'll slap on a shred. But even then most things now die in 1~2 bullets

 what is burst damage exactly?

 

there are two kinds of dps measures - burst damage per second and sustained damage per second

 

burst usually is just damage per bullet x rof....

[damage per bullet also takes into it the chance of crits and crit multiplier]

 

sustained also takes into consideration reload time

 

aka its definitelly smaller especially on long-reload weapons.

 

f.e. big bunch of sniper guns will outdps ya in matter of burst damage (with single shot being taken into account into single "burst")

 

so as a matter of naming convention - burst is average dps on single mag sustained is average dps per whole very long time :P

Hu... I put his exact build into "Warframe builder" and it doesn't say 34k like it said in the post, it said hes doing 26k so I don't know how hes calculating his DPS.

I have a slightly similar build but i dare not fuse the heavy caliber too high. Damage is nice butni dont like to sacrifice the accuracy.

I use fire+ice for the explosion aoe on mine. :)

Hammershot is statistically worse than a 90% elemental mod and only slightly better than an elemental event mod, which has a better status chance overall.

 

Also, Synoid MAY be the most damaging weapon in the game but a lot of its impracticalities such as short range, status per second, and magnetic explosion kinda balance it out, not in terms of other weapon comparison but while in use. It's still an absolute monster though and will easily out DPS any weapon in the game.
