Some of you probably already asked this, but I've been kind of playing the game for the last 2 years under the assumption that the Lotus is some Orokin relic, trying to pick up the pieces of the past, like us. But what if it's not? What if it's an AI foreign to the Orokin? That woke us up just to use us for whatever it wants with the system? The Lotus claims it is working to maintain "the Balance", but that "balance" kind of just looks like perpetual war. No faction is gaining strength because we are keeping them weak. If one side gained dominance, would it really matter? The Lotus is constantly throwing us these alarmist statements of "If Y achieves their goals here, they will dominate the entire system, definitely!" Says you, but last I looked I've killed over a million of each faction (probably). Obviously, nothing is much of a threat to us, and obviously that's the meta talking, but nevertheless the fact remains that us Tenno have a pretty much 99.99% success rate as far as all these events, invasions, etc. go. We can infiltrate anywhere, kill endlessly, and it doesn't seem like there's anything too big for our guns and blades. Clearly, most of the Lotus' statements have been hyberbolic. What if it's - *gasp* - one of those Sentients? Oh well. Back to grinding for forma and keys. And this event. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

You wake up and she's claiming she saved you and that you should murder the crap out of everyone. You're like SEEMS LEGIT LETS DO IT and that's the premise of the game. She is the one gives you the quest updates where we learn about her. AFAIK no one else is known to be that old except Ordis who... conveniently enough... also has no memory so anything we're told by other NPC's is also based on the same assumptions we've made ourselves. Are you fighting for the thing saved your life, or you are just another avatar of greater power who is in an endless surge for better weaponry? Morec0 Posted May 14, 2015 Share Posted May 14, 2015 The Orokin empire had at least one group within it that was not considered Orokin - the Grineer. It's possible there were others, so in that regards it CAN be thought that perhaps Lotus was NOT an Orokin. But as of being of Orokin origin? As others have said there are already strong implications she's been with us, helping us, since the Old War where we fought against the Sentients, heavily implying she comes from them as well.
