Dremen_Vex Posted May 30, 2015 Share Posted May 30, 2015 (edited) Can we please stop calling ourselves ninjas, we really aren't ninjas..For one ninjas had no honor, it's why it was easy for them to kill their enemies who (Samurai) only thought about honor. In all honesty we're more of a special ops group especially since we're not limited to assassination, we use firearms not just silent weapons or bows. We protect targets against massive waves of enemies we travel in groups of four each warframe has special abillities (Specializing in certain fields in a sense) most of which don't deal with stealth. Only ninja frame is ash pretty much. Just saying, getting ridiculous. And oh yeah forgot a rocket launcher is not ninja, at all. I said it more of an elephant in the room cause I keep seeing other players keep saying "That's not ninja like" gets a bit annoying after 90th time. The westernized version of the classical ninja, with elements of historical accuracy slipping in from time to time. The first tenno was a special ops soldier. Dark Sector's only 4/10th's canon. Aye, those people are annoying. But they make the same mistake you are: thinking we're supposed to be exact carbon copies of the historical ancient-Japan ninja clans. We're not. We take elements, and those elements are recognized as being "ninja" for their aesthetic, but I don't recall a single moment in-game where the word "ninja" is ever mentioned. I guess it depends on how you want to look at it. I say they are based on ninjas but not actually ninjas. Ultimately, who cares? The game is fun regardless. Steve himself said what you just quoted. Just because there was a "first Tenno" doesn't mean it had to be Hayden Tenno. Could have been the first Tenno (plural or singular) to be made by the Orokin. He's a great example as well. He even uses magic attacks of awesomesauce, just as we do. And Ryu Hyabusa is definitely considered a ninja by the masses. They're really great. You can skim through the vids if you want. 1st one has a lot of the ninpo stuff which is what I was referring to that was similar to our abilities. 2nd one just has a lot of flashy combos with different weapons.
