Hive - Where Did All The Hive Types Go?

When the Hive mission type was introduced, it had a whole pool of several types of hives from whic the types you had to deal with were selected at random. It kept things fresh and added an element of surprise to the mission.

But now, it seems that every Hive mission can only have Pulsing, Gas, and Freeze hive types, which appear in every mission. Why? Where are the laser beam hives, turret hives, low gravity hives..? Why removing them?

Iirc, the type of hives you get was related to the level of the mission. Lasers, low gravity, and turrets were the lower difficulty hives. Since hive missions are now all on Eris, the level is more or less stable, so you always get the same hives.

if they are infact Level weighted for which ones are selected... that's indeed kind've lame.

variety > someone's judgement of what's more difficult.

personally, Viral Clouds, Magnetic Clouds, and half Shields are nominal. they're very easy to avoid in (almost all of - in a couple spots here and there you're basically forced to walk through them, which is uncool) most situations, save for Grapple Hook bullsnot as usual or something of the sort.

to clarify, Scorpions and Ancients are very unfair with their Grapple Hooks as they start the Grapple Hook attack in the exact same frame (or very next frame) that said AI instance sees the Player.

the Player however, at best won't see that Enemy for another 200ms give or take.

Grapple Hooks are technically telegraphed, except those two Enemies Telegraph while the Grapple Hook is starting to fly through the air, rather than Telegraphing BEFORE they do that Attack.

telegraphing before so a Skilled Player can avoid it is good - telegraphing at the same time is bad because it's just dumb luck if you avoid it then.
