[Spoiler] What Really Destroyed The Orokin Empire?

On the wiki it says:

"The end of the Sentient threat should have been the end of the Orokin's struggles, but it was not to be. For unknown reasons, as the Orokin were celebrating their victory by bestowing the Tenno with honors, the Warframe-clad warriors struck, destroying the Orokin's leadership and throwing the empire into chaos, an event that would herald the end of the Orokin Empire."

What triggered the rage? Did the Warframes act on their own? Did the Operators( Tenno ) decide to rebel against them and due to the Second Dream they forgot the motive?

This might explain why the Warframe moved on its own in the Second Dream quest. They have their motives to survive and think that the Tenno are the best suited for them while the Orokin were simply using them.

Thoughts?

It was mentioned by Hunhow and confirmed by Lotus The She caused the rebellion and was supposed to Eliminate the tenno afterwards But instead she betrayed them and Hid the Tenno.

Also the Orokin still weren't down and out. Until the grinner uprising shortly after.*I may be mistaken about this

The Orokin just had it bad with Tragedy after Tragedy.

The Tenno control the Warframes. No, the Warframes didn't act on their own. They are surrogate bodies. Bodies. The Warframes aren't thinking that the Tenno have their best interest at heart, where the Orokin didn't. That's not the case. The Tenno are the mind, and the Warframes are the hand. In other words, the Tenno are the mind within the Warframe bodies. The Warframes are just that - bodies, powerful enough to contain the Void energy of the Tenno, made to fight the Sentients.

It was the Lotus who made the Tenno kill the Orokin. Play the Natah quest. Natah was meant to influence the Tenno to kill the Orokin first, and then to kill the Tenno, most likely by destroying the moon.

Orokin rulers find out that Tennos have gift and they are strong enemy, so they decide exterminate them (lotus say in second dream something like, youre just a child but orokin is affraid of you). But Lotus change her mind and save them

My best guess is this:

Natah and Hunhow had a mission to infiltrate the Orokin empire and bring it down from within, after the Orokin began deploying unbeatable Warframe technology. Natah learned about the Tenno and their history and the fact that many of them had decided to fight for honor and justice as a personal code.   And she learned about Margulis.   The Orokin were understandably not eager to tell the Tenno what actually happened to the selfless woman who was trying to save them and give them a normal(ish) life, or the nature of their own existence, so Natah saw an opportunity.  She told the Tenno what happened to their "mother", and how the Orokin had used the technology she made to turn the Tenno into a fighting force to defend the empire from its enemies.  The Tenno were outraged, and once it seemed like the war against the Sentients had been won (a lie) and the people of the origin system was safe, they turned on the Orokin in vengeance and justice.  After the slaughter, Natah was supposed to kill all the Tenno and end their power, but as a result of her research she had begun to respect and even love the Tenno and see them as victims of the Orokin. She decided to save them, etc etc etc.

Right Instead of killing the Tenno like she was suppose to she Took them away.

Now comes the question, WHAT did Natah tell them to make them so mad to kill the Orokin? Considering she was still  on Sentients side, she most likely told the Tenno that the Orokin are either planning to destroy them because they are too strong or that they intend them to use them in conquering other Systems.

Ninja'ed by Momaw, you have a good guess there.

That they were tyrants. That was what she was supposed to have told them. It was datamined over a year ago I think, but DE never ended up including it in the game.

This is exactly right, based on what we know so far.

This.

Also, to add, I assume we only slaughtered the top-class of the Orokin hierarchy, their leaders, presumably the famed Executors. They were still a handful of Orokin that were trying to rebuild the empire.

Soon afterwards, the Great Plague sweeps through the system and pretty much thinned down the already struggling Orokin society.

Lastly, the Grineer rebelled. Helpless and weak, the Orokin succumbed to their former slaves.

One of the dialogue choices at the end of the Second Dream quest hints that while the Tenno were dreaming (before warframes were created), they could hear Margulis, and were aware that she had been killed.  This likely planted the seeds of rebellion among the Tenno.  When the Warframes were made, and Transference was introduced, the Tenno fought for the Orokin not out of any sense of goodwill, but rather a desire to be free, and to be a part of the world instead of simply dreaming about it.  When the sentients were defeated, the Tenno likely realized just how powerful they were compared to the Orokin, and took their revenge for the death of Margulis.  It is likely that the Lotus had some hand in influencing their decision to rebel. but it was not 100% her doing.

I'm assuming that the Tenno were vulnerable to influence and threats to whoever housed their bodies.  They were an effective weapon that were used against the Sentients.

Somehow the Sentients took their bodies and the Lotus hid them from the Orokin and Sentients alike. (spoiler: On the moon in the void) The Sentients either went into hiding or were forced out by the Orokin.  The Tenno then destroyed the Orokin, and the Lotus chose not to kill the Tenno.

There was an earlier conversation with Margolis (the inventor of transference that was stolen by the Orokin) that defended against destroying them.
