0 X3Evanescence
This is due to the fact that Ancient Healers provide a damage reduction aura to nearby enemies, making them take reduced damage and become immune to crowd control. Especially in high levels, it is important to get rid of the Ancient Healers first before dealing with the other enemies, as the damage reduction aura makes even a Charger able to take a bunch of hits before going down. 0 [DE]Grzegorz
This is due to the fact that Ancient Healers provide a damage reduction aura to nearby enemies, making them take reduced damage. They also get healed whenever said enemies take damage.

0 Rippz0r
you are supposed to kill them as soon as u spot them, cause like ppl said above, they will protect all enemies and heal themselves.

0 StinkyPygmy
Are we sure OP doesn't mean syndicate spectres? Even if he does, you can't kill them anyway as far as I can tell because they're treated as allies.
0 (XBOX)sh3kvothe
OP did say the ones that don't seem to die. Either its a specter or was under Nyx's mind control.
0 (PSN)CoolD2108
Or a Nyx said it? Yep, most likely a nyx, who wants to controll them, or a necros, who wants to kill them himself. These guys, if controlled, share theyr benefits with your squad. The waves of a ancient healer not only heal you but even go as far as reviving you when you're downed, next to the obviously usefull aura. They should be priority targets tho if noone tells you otherwise in your current game.
0 Tesseract7777
Yeah you could be asked by someone to not kill it if they are a Nyx trying to mind control it, or if it is a specter they summoned (a friendly unit that looks like an enemy to someone who doesn't know better), then they are trying to tell you that you are wasting your time attacking it, because it's an allied ancient. As CoolID stated, it could also be a Nekros hoping to kill it and bag it as a summon when using Shadows of the Dead, for the benefit of the whole team. If you truly cannot kill the ancient, then it being a specter, a mind controlled ancient or a nekros summon are all possible.
