True; if you're having problems with him regenerating, check the wiki. He basically feeds off his soldiers so limit his food supply. When he goes down to drain a soldier, kill it first and keep up the damage.

It was a long fight but fairly easy if you go with puncture, punch-through, corrosive, proc-based weapons, corrosive... toxin seemed to help keep the soldiers at bay. If you really can't kill him, have the group split its priority with some focusing on the boss and the others on the soldiers. Expect it to take a while either way.

Solo with Loki + Tonkor = piece of cake.

Keep shooting at him without giving him time to feed off his grineer friends. Two grenades and he goes flying to another spot without doing anything. Just bring a couple of ammo restores. Fight's over in about 5 minutes

For his flying phase bring an AoE secondary like Sonicor. Make sure yo are killing off any enemies that show up in the area so Vay Hek cannot absorb health from them (again, Sonicor is great for this, as it ragdlls grineer into space and out of range of Vay Hek)

 

For the final part again, use your AoE secondary to take him out of his flying form, for his Turkey form just bring a very high damage weapon. Sancti Tigris, Vaykor Hek, and Tonkor fit this bill but really any high damage weapon should suffice.

 

Dont stay in one spot, stay mobile. His shots hit like a truck and if Vay Hek and the Grineer mutts are able to keep shooting you, you will die hard.

 

Being in a squad is helpful here. It can be solo'd but teammates can make great decoys if ya catch my drift ;D
