though Heliocor makes no sense as a Cephlon design

"Hey you primitive caveman, since you can't stop clubbing living beings into paste instead of scanning them, I got a new club for you that will do both" -Cephalon Simaris thinking, presumably.

Heliocor is the only Cephalon melee weapon, it was basically the only option for a Cephalon-based Syndicate.

ok, well then de lied because the heliocor is brand new, so it does not fit in to used or unused yet because it is BRAND NEW, they said they were going to get weapons least used by the community, and they bring a brand new weapon in to the pool, yet another reason why suda will always be the best syndicate to get stuff from

That's wierd, because what popular opinion was "Anything but Boltace" and "It should be a Sword"

Well, maybe our peers are different. Plenty of people in the N/A East region were agreeing on Boltace because it fit the set. Maybe it could have been like Telos Dakra or something, might have made sense, it's a pretty swordy looking sword, their sigil Is a sword too. But what also makes plenty of sense is completing the Telos puncture weapon set. :P

If Hexis HAS to go with Tonfas, it should be the Kronen. Kronen already has many skins, is more popular than the Boltace, looks better than the Boltace, and is slash based.

You don't Prime or make a variant of the best weapon of a category because it just makes all the other weapons in said category look even worse in comparison.

A syndicate kronen can be buffed to be a sidegrade to the Boltace without the need for power creep, but a syndicate Boltace will never be a sidegrade to the regular boltace, because it's already better than the Kronen by Default.

Additionally, currently none of the syndicate weapons are slash based. The only reason the Boltace was chosen is because "Muh Boltor". The Hexis don't deserve such bad weapons just because their first was actually good (Akboltos).

Okay, it's not like DE said they took the statistically least used weapons and gave them the Syndicate treatment. While being underplayed may have given some inspiration to selecting these weapons, it was far from a hard rule. The most important element behind selecting these weapons is the weapon itself fitting with each Syndicate's aesthetic. For example, the Red Veil's had to be Tenno-made, edgy, clandestine and look good in red, so they took the Dark Dagger. Steel Meridian's had to be Grineer-made and military, hence the Sydon. New Loka's had to be Tenno-made and ornate, so the Magistar. Suda's had to be Cephalon-made and inquisitive: a hammer may not be the most cerebral of weapons, but the Heliocor is Cephalon. What other melee weapon could Cephalon Suda have offered? I wouldn't be surprised if they made the vanilla Heliocor specifically to have a weapon to release a Syndicate version of (it would be kind of silly to have a Syndicate version of a weapon that doesn't exist). Players have been pushing for Syndicate melee for quite some time, no point keeping us waiting extra patches because there were no Cephalon melee weapons.

But isnt dark dagger redundant, since Red Veil already has a mod for the Dark Dagger, and lets be honest, the only reason a dagger is viable is thanks to Covert Lethality.

And the problem with the Hiliocor is that it has just been released, its barely over a week old and its already getting a Syndicate version.
