Infested door and Nidus

So I got Nidus and went into the infested room. Great so far.... Went up to the chair and got my shot so that the infestation can talk to me now. .... Great? So has anyone discovered anything else that this has done so far? The devs have been hypeing this for so long and talking about it being part of new mechanics to the point of just being blue in the face. So what is going on here? What is the point with this and what has it brought to the table?... besides maybe a solid case of HIV with that dirty stinger we took to the neck.

might have to do with that augmented arm thing that talked about before, having you weild some kind of weapon that is part of your arm.
possible that could be something are warframe or the operator themselves get but might not
