Should I add Cleanse mod or not?

Question

Greetings fellow Tenno. I'm looking for help regarding the mod setup for my primary weapon, Hek (yes, I'm still using it despite there being better options.)

My mods are:

Scattered Justice
Point Blank (I really should get the Primed version...)
Vicious Spread
Blaze
Hell's Chamber
Seeking Fury
2 elemental mods depending on what faction I'm expect to face.

What I wonder is: should I swap something out(Hell's Chamber perhaps, since I already have Scattered Justice?) for Cleanse [Faction], or perhaps another mod entirely?

Yes, but with Scattered Justice providing 200% multishot, Hell's Chamber's 120% drops in effectivity, so I'm wondering: is Hell's Chamber still stronger than Cleanse [Faction]?

depends on what you're fighting. if it's Grineer/Corrupted where you're probably fighting both Alloy and Ferrite Armor at once, no. rather a third Elemental so that you can Kill all of the Enemies.

elsewise, it may be worth considering. if you do use it, replace Vicious Spread or Blaze (probably Vicious Spread). don't replace Multi-shot with anything.

Yes. You want all the multishot possible since you'll be shooting more pellets. You don't even need a cleanse mod on shotguns anyway.

Too much of any one stat will result in weight shifting to another.

For the most part multishot is superior to other stats but there are situations where it can lose. In case of Hek normal Bane is not enough, however a Bane mod on a Riven (~+55%) would be enough to beat Hell's chamber in raw damage.

There's still the subject of status trigger per shot which puts additional weight on multishot, esp when dealing with armor but in terms of Raw damage multishot can be beaten.

Spoiler

Hek Scattered Justice + Hellfire
525 Damage, 25% x2 Crit, 25% Status, 7 Pellet count
Primed Point Blank + Vicious + Blaze
525 * (1+ 0.9 + 0.9 + 0.6) = 1,785
Blaze + Elementals 90% x2
1,785 * (0.6 + 0.9 + 0.9) = 4,284
Damage Per Pellet (4,284 + 1785) / 7 = 867
Hell's Chamber + Scattered Justice
7 * ( 1 + 1.2 + 2) = 29.4 Pellet Count
29.4(867) * ( 1 + ( 1- 2 ) * 0.1) = 28,038.78 Avg Damage per Shot

Hek Scattered Justice + Bane (30%)
525 Damage, 25% x2 Crit, 25% Status, 7 Pellet count
Primed Point Blank + Vicious + Blaze
525 * (1+ 0.9 + 0.9 + 0.6) = 1,785
Bane
1,785 * 1.3 = 2,320.5
Blaze + Elementals 90% x2
2,320.5 * (0.6 + 0.9 + 0.9) = 5,569.2
Damage per Pellet (2,320.5 + 5,569.2) / 7 = 1,127.1
Scattered Justice
7 * ( 1 + 2 ) = 21 Pellet Count
21(1,127.1) * ( 1 + ( 1- 2 ) * 0.1) = 26,036.01 Avg Damage per Shot

Hek Scattered Justice + Primed Bane (55%)
525 Damage, 25% x2 Crit, 25% Status, 7 Pellet count
Primed Point Blank + Vicious + Blaze
525 * (1+ 0.9 + 0.9 + 0.6) = 1,785
Primed Bane
1,785 * 1.55 = 2,766.75
Blaze + Elementals 90% x2
2,766.75 * (0.6 + 0.9 + 0.9) = 6,640.2
Damage per Pellet (2,766.75 + 6,640.2) / 7 = 1,343.85
Scattered Justice
7 * ( 1 + 2 ) = 21 Pellet Count
21(1,343.85) * ( 1 + ( 1- 2 ) * 0.1) = 31,042.935 Avg Damage per Shot

Your Current setup is optimal for Raw Damage per Shot, Primed Point Blank and Riven excluded of course.
