(PSN)Carnatus Posted March 13, 2017 Share Posted March 13, 2017 There's a billion reasons someone might miss an event, great and small. In the end- plenty of people are gonna miss it. Plenty of people are going to feel resentment and regret as a result. Therefore, every one time/exclusive offer/event/gift is adding to a pulsating mass of negative emotion that sticks in the back of player's minds indefinitely. Whether you're sympathetic towards these people or apathetic ("deal with it, you missed out, you don't deserve it, tough.") the one thing that can't be denied is that it breeds toxicity within the community and reduces a player's ability to enjoy the game by at least a certain extent. The less a player enjoys the game, the less the player will be willing to support the game financially. The less financial support the game gets, the less likely the game will continue being developed and stay alive. Having the events reoccur down the line however lessens the regret and resentment considerably and actually gives players something to regularly look forward to.
