You need screenshots of the chat to prove it, and then you head to Support and submit those screenshots with a detailed account of what happened.

Do not spend any plat you obtained from this trade.  Do not use or build any items you obtained from this trade.

Got it. Thank you very much.

For now, this person got away with it because i just now spent the plat (before seeing this). I just think there should be fair players who give and or take in the right amount...and not people who cheat you for their own gain. It just angers me how people can be that way.

Under 'Report User'.

Make sure that your report is legitimate though -- trading chat does not enforce promises or the like, so if the guy just lied to you, it's not really a reportable offense as far as I understand. It's at your discretion to pursue something that lies beyond the scope of regular trading.

It was a trade of my Frost Prime Systems being bought for plat. This player said he was willing to buy it for 5 plat. I asked if it was more rare ( because the rarer, the more it should get I believe) and he said "nop", so I let him buy it and not only didn't he not thank me for it, but I also saw on warframe.market that several people were willing to pay more for it.

I demanded to have it back and I was even going to give the plat back, but of course, no. "Not my problem"

"yeah it is you ****. YOU initiated it".

That's taking advantage of uneducated people and I've had my fair share of that treatment. It should NOT be tolerated.

Naming and shaming is not allowed here. and also this sounds like your problem. once you agree to the terms thats it. do your homework before you agree to a price.

Definitely not a reportable offense. He offered you a price and you took it. It's a free market.

Sorry you feel you got cheated, but there's nothing else you can do.

Lastly, edit the name of the person out of your post, it goes against Forum rules.

If you want to protect yourself from being scammed, always do your research on the item in question to get a decent understanding of the items worth.  Never trade for promises, never hand over plat or an item before hand and never trade a lump sum for multiple sets.  I've seen where someone will try to buy 2 full sets of something, trade the total plat amount and only get half of what they wanted.

I use warframe.market as well as the Trading Post sub-forum here for my price checks, hasn't failed me yet.

Isn't reporting naming and shaming in itself?

Because it's MY problem I wasn't educated in something. That's like telling D E they're stupid for not realising it rains Diamonds on Jupiter.

It's not MY problem that I don't get told these things and that some people are fair, some are not.

naming and shaming is in a public place ( like these forums ). its not if you report them. secondly, it is your decision to sell whatever you sold for how much you agreed on. that has nothing to do with DE.

That was an example of why "That's your problem" is patronising. No disrespect to D E meant.

Still, would be cool to see Diamond Storms in the game.

it is what it is... all sales are final. if you dont feel confortable selling it for that price there are opportunities for you to not accept. or you could say hang on a sec, then do a google search or warframe market whatever.

If a car salesmen came up to me after he sold me a car and said hey i sold that to you too cheap. i would say you signed the contract too bad buddy. same way they would use the contract against me. In this case all sales are final, make sure before you accept. that is simply the way it is. learn and move on

Consider if it was the opposite scenario and he offered you a price notably higher than the ones listed on Warframe Market. Would you be trying to contact him to re-pay the difference? I imagine you'd be giggling and thinking yourself quite clever.

Platinum comes and goes, and you'll have more chances in the future to get Prime pieces. Best not to let it bother you and keep going.

Sorry, do you mean if he bought your car for say "$/£100,00", you shook and agreed only to find he bought the same car from someone who understood for MORE money, that's fine? No, that is not. That's called "Swindling" and to my memory, that is a crime. Using ones lack of education, especially in terms of ones personal gain is BAD. No excuse or rationalising. That. Is. Bad.

People need to stop shrugging it off as "Tough, suck it up" and stand up for themselves more.

It is, but it's still true. No one is required to go out of their way to educate you on trade prices, so it's not really anyone else's fault you didn't know how much

If I have the right plat for it, I'll give exactly it. I believe in being fair and correct.

Yeah, I feel bad, but it is also your fault you were uneducated. You could have also "price-checked" the prime item before to avoid this.

You took the offer. He didn't scam you at all.

If you felt as 5 plat was really low, try and negotiate.

I'm sorry to say you did this to yourself. Better luck next time.

That player knew, there was even a pause. It's when they know it SHOULD be bought for more and yet, they don't pay for it.
That's like when PC Pirates illegally download the latest game for free when they see it's merely £10 for the full game.

No, HE knew it was a rarer find. yes I was uneducated, but any moral person would buy/sell in the correct price, especially if you know it.

But Warframe's Trade Chat is a free market. An item's worth is dictated purely by what people are willing to pay for it and what people are willing to sell it for. There's no specific number that's 'fair and correct'.

Use this as an opportunity to make more educated decisions moving forward.

So what? It's a free market. There are freely accessible resources for to consult in order to better protect yourself. Capitalism doesn't demand morality.

Well there should be. To have something rare, especially after LOTS of time spent and hard work, should not be rewarded with stingy liars.
Lack of education or not, NEVER take advantage of people or underpay well deserved hard work/rare items.

There is no right or wrong price, prices you see listed on sites like Warframe.Market are just guidelines.

At least they're closer Guidelines. When I went with the guidlines shown in other places what pieces usually go for. i always got people wanting it for cheaper.
Those were the official prices when I saw them and NOBODY was willing to buy them for that much...they're certainly willing to sell it for more though.

What's next:

"WTB Reaper Prime set + Excalibur Prime account for 1 plat"
"WTS surpress for 1000000 plat"
?

You know, that wouldn't be right and whoever DOES sell or buy that stuff on the other end is the "Patsy". Eff that.
