How to Fix PoE for Everyone

Too grindy. Too much fishing. Too much RNG. How do we resolve this in a way EVERYONE will agree with?

It's... actually pretty easy: Just. Go. Play.

That should be the underlying design foundation of this, and every other open world segment. Just go play.

Worried about rep gain? Credits? Relic drops? Crafting nats and parts? Don't be. All of these things will drop from enemies in the open world, from mission and out posts containers and yes, you can also fish for them, if you desire.

That's it. That's all it takes. Let containers and enemies drop mats, mods and other PoE items. This way, we just go and play, without worry of missing something.

This is how you fix PoE. For everyone.

You don't seem to realize that it takes hours of dedicated Fishframing to craft the lowest tier Amp.

We can't just play by design, we have to sit on the edge of the water and fish for hours to farm the rare fish we need.

The reason people are complaining in the first place is because they WANT to PLAY Warframe instead of Fishframe.

Exactly.

And I am advocating for just that. We shouldn't Have to fish. Or HAVE to mine.

We should just be able to go play, confident that the stuff we need for crafting and progression will drop as we play. Mining, fishing...those should be 100% optional methods for getting extras. Simply wandering the Plains and fighting g and missions should get you EVERYTHING you need for any and all types of progression.

Oh, my bad. I thought you were saying players should just play the current content, but now I see that you mean DE should make the content more playable and focused on space ninja'ing.

Exactly that.

Just tweak loot tables so no matter what we CHOOSE to do in the Plains, the stuff we need drops. All of it.

While this is a great idea and what should be the idea of the game, sadly DE isnt getting the memo on this.

This is too much like The Secret of my Success where the mailroom knew problems weeks before the top echilon knew that a problem existed.

You're close.

The answer is actually: Reward players for their time.

One player doesn't like fishing? Let them buy fish with extra drops they get.

One doesn't like mining? Let him trade fish for rocks.

One player only likes to shoot stuff? Let the enemies drop rocks and fish

Sadly, I fear this is true.

Just let us play. It worked for so long, with all the key mods spread out. You just ran missions...and got what you needed.

Let's get back to that.

This works, too.

Let me buy fish or rock with credits. Fallen Grineer drop fish. Exactly.

However you do it, stop forcing one method and just set it up so we get what we need by playing the content we enjoy.

If you want to make it more "realistic" then have some Greneer fishers and miners out on the plains that you can hunt for the fish and ore drops ;). They could also have special supply caches near them that have the fish they have caught / ore they have mined in it.

I think Grineer caches - real ones - should appear now and then. And they should offer crafting stuff. Mars, fish stuff...PoE rewards.

Like I said: just go play. You'll get what you need. That SHOULD BE the setup. It needs to be the way things work.

have been wanting to say this for the last two days..... so here we go.

/flameshieldon

People are talking about how the grind is too hard and how this isn't fair and the fishing is too hard (yes really) and blah and blah and blah blah blah blah blah.....
ffs its been out 4 days.

why does everyone want everything handed to them on a silver tray within days of an ENTIRE NEW CONTENT drop

Only so much can be debugged in a closed environment.

give DE time to test and rebalance things.

If you uncovered EVERYTHING without delay (reaching caps etc) what sort of time do you think the devs will have to fix it.
you lot will be screaming even harder at them ti fix stuff because you've already got to the end game of PoE....... have a word.

let me remind you of something that IS bugged and DOES need fixing right away..........

Nice Strawman.

No one said a word about hard.

They said it's unfun, and pointlessly time wasting. But not hard.

I really want being able to raid their fishing racks and ore carts to be a thing now.

Grineer patrols of casual fisherman and miners.
if you're on a higher level PoE, they start getting escorted.

Lotus comes over the coms "There's a large platoon of grineer nearby, they appear to be... fishing? Obviously they are doing something nefarious, tenno! Kill them in the name of the queen! Put an end to their evil plans!"

I don't think Grineer should drop fish or ore, but the idea of random hidden caches sounds about right as far as ideas go.  Grineer lancers dropping in from a galleon in orbit aren't going to be hauling around fresh fish.  The other materials they drop could literally just represent the make up of the salvageable junk we pry from their cold dead hands, but a fish?

I'm am also in agreement that fish/ore materials should be purchasable for Cetus rep (or silver, as Konzu alludes to when he mentions "blood for silver.") but raw materials are being sold for plat under "today's specials" so...  Doubtful this will ever happen.

But yeah... I wouldn't expect this stuff to just drop from slain foes.  It's not exactly a novel concept 4 years in.  Making them intentional efforts to acquire by other means was definitely the goal DE set out to accomplish.
