Soma Prime. It's not the best pick for everything but there's very few situations where it's bad.

I use mainly 3 weapons:

Telos boltor, tigris prime and rubico

for secondary i use the kulstar and aklex prime

I rarely use melee except for rakta dark dagger to add energy for banshee while activating her 4th

I would say none of them are rewarding compared to shotguns, launchers, melee, some continuous and of course Lenz.

....but effective =/= rewarding. So I would say the best ones are Soma Prime, Baza, Prisma Grakata, Tenora, Sybaris Prime and Zenith.

In addition to the other suggestions I recommend the Supra Vandal.  Spray and pray is the easiest way to play.

There are hundreds of answers (yes ik we don't have many primaries but eh u get da point) to your question pick any weapon that don't shot beam for safety (except hind and karak)

For utility i say Ignis wraith. Nothing combines better with abilitys then guaranteed aoe status.

For actuall gunplay i go with the crowd. Soma prime.

After getting a riven for it and throwing on Hunter munitions I've become a big fan of Zenith. A multi-functional rifle with good status and critical potential. However it's a daily login so that will take time for you to obtain.

That aside, after I riven'd an Opticor I can pretty much kill everything with just that.

As always it depends on what feels comfortable for you. It's why sometimes I wish Warframe simulacrum would copy Planetside 2's try before you buy method so you can see if a weapon is for you or not and figure out whether it's to your speed.
